Came across your build awhile back but didn't have a chance to do a full read until this morning. Read it ALL. Beginning to end. Front to back. Inside and out.
Really dig your determination!!! Nice to see all your accomplishments and stick-too-it-ive-ness. Keep it up. I know how putting in 10- 14.5 hr days go. Did 13 hrs yesterday.
For a shoe string budget you show quality doesn't have to suffer.:metal:
Can't wait for more.

thanks bomp, for taking the time to read it all! i try to stick to it, and yes long work days suck! there talking about in january its going to go to 5- 10-12hr days a week! not bad on the wallet but less time on the truck, the weather is going to get worse too! but i'll still working on it or buying parts for it!!

thanks desert.chevy, its a slow build! but i got a deadline i'll trying to stick too!

anyways i got some longbed panels for (kieth) here on the forum, to make my rear wheelwells 1.5-2" bigger so the tire looks more centered in the bed and to fix the wheel well lip were my cousin who owed the bed before me rolled the lip and it really didnt need to be! i also got a pro billet distributor, and my shotgun air intake scoop!! the scoop is going to be painted silver like the valve covers and the butterflys will be painted the same color as the block! just to tie everything together! anyways heres the pics!! i'm also thinking about buying a new header panel and tailgate this summer will see how things go between now and then

sweet parts, what exactly are you doing with bed, not sure i understand. are you talking from front to back ,or top to bottom, if i am making any sense.

i'm talking front to back! i'm going to move the front part of the wheelwell arch on the outside of the bed forward 1.5-2" to make the tire looked centered to the bed! the back of the arch will stay in the same place, i'm just streching it! plus the bottom of the front part of the bed has dents and bondo covering it on both side! so i cut off more of the donor bed then what i will need to fix it all in one shot!! i hope that makes sense!

I didnt need to use the whole patch but like so what its mine! i got busy this weekend and cut it all out and fixed the passenger side! cab is almost done, still need to get the bbw in, then sound deaden the cab to start the wiring, the weather is gettin worse its suppost to snow tomorrow about 4-8" in.! but i got other things to keep me busy and i still need to buy a few things to meet my march 18th. dead line of starting my truck, and having the truck wired and the cab done! anyways heres some pics. clems, the "deadline plan" i have is by march 18th. to have my sound deadner in, wiring installed, carpet in and all the engine stuff done so i can start it and maybe a "test" drive! and if that all goes to plan then i will be driving it this summer! i can do the bodywork and the exterior mods. as i'm driving it! i'm just getting to the point that i want to drive it!! riding in and driving 'keiths' truck made me want to get mine on the road even more!! and i hope that by the next cook out you have i can drive it there!! i have alot on my plate to do in two months but i will knock out as much of it as i can by then! i think really the wiring is what will take alot of my time and i need to hurry up and start on it, the rest is easy just have to have time when i'm not sick!! i'll start the sound deadner and wiring this next weekend if the weather is ok for me to do it that is!!

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70

i think the body work will turn out a lot better if it was all together and done at one time, i wish i had done that, i think my gaps and lines would have come out better, not to mention all the nicks and chips in the paint.

i know what you mean, but the inside of the cab is going to get done and the exterior bodywork and mods. arent much just on the bed, the hood, and the door gaps! but thats the doors not the cab, and i do plan on having it painted all at once, just not til atleast summer! i just want to hear it run again really!!

we will see clems, i got to get some stuff done this weekend and i wont be doing the wiring! still need the repop firewall insulation pad to come in, so i wont see the shiny aluminum insulation when i put my carpet in, it seems they dont make a carpet kit that go's more up on the firewall unless you buy a yard of it to do it yourself! i just hope the carpet meets up or overlaps the firewall pad and theres not a gap!

anyways i got to get to work on it this weekend the weathers in the 50-60's, we'll see what i can get done!

on another note:
the wife is talking more and more about wanting a chevelle and if she ends up getting her law suit claim with in the next 6 months from her last job then she'll have somewhere between 15k and 30k or more to pay for any and everything she wants me to do to it!! i have a line on two different year chevelles 1) a 66 ss with a number matching 396 and 4 speed but has a 283 in it, but runs! needs interior work and driver fender needs to be replaced but over all needs about 2k put in the interior and could be a nice daily driver! i've known the guy for a 5 yrs. now! the 2) is a 69 with a bunch of new parts still in boxs with a 05 5.3 ls out of a tahoe with less then 40k miles its sitting in my cousins shop ( the one i talk about that has built hot rod all my life) he bought it and has worked the bugs out on the motor he wife says hes got to many projects! but the prices are way in the budget and we will still be able to put 10k in it! she said if she gets 25k plus we could buy both of them and at least put 10k to fix one for now, man i really love her!! lol !!! she really wants the 69 thats already a daily driver and we could drive it home with no problems! i got my fingers crossed and i hope she gets her claim

well they are talking about a chance of rain this mourning here, so i wont do the trimming and install of the big back window, but i do have 1/4" plate and some measurements and a shop i can work in this weekend! to bad i cant get on of the bays or i would have my truck in it! its my buddys dads shop (they are like a second family to me), he's going to let me use his shop and plasma cutter, an all his tools! im going to start making my front tilt hood brackets or atleast get them cut and ready this weekend! i still might try and get the bbw glass in this weekend, we will see what i can get done!!

thanks wutnxt, i've been working on the truck a lil! i'll have some pictures up tomorrow, i've been trimming the lip down to 3/8" for the glass and gasket to sit on! i've also been stripping the paint out of the channel on the back so the gasket will fit better!

last weekend i cut up some 1/4" plate to start making my brackets that will bolt the front tilt hood hinges to the inner fenders and radiator support! so i made some bracket to go under the inner fenders so they dont rip thru! i'll get them welded together maybe tomorrow if i have time! trying to get same small stuff done while i wait on my firewall pad to come in, so i can start the wiring!!

thanks alan for the pics they did help alot!!

i trimmed the lip down some more and its to the point that if i trim anymore without test fitting the glass i might take to much off!! i think i got to really really close if not dead on! i forgot to take some pics because when i did remember to it was getting dark fast!

but anyways i got a few pics to show that i am slowly working on it, the wife wanted to do taxes and that took up a 1/2 of "truck time" on friday, lol!! but thats done, i have been working on my gas pedal and brake pedal had to cut four notches in the brake pedal for the bolts and trim the top and bottom off some so you dont see the pedal behind the lokar pedal! heres some pics, some pics are not so good cause it was getting dark and i forgot to take pics earlier when i did it! i didnt work on the tilt hood brackets to much, just got some more grinding on them to do before welding then together! pics of those to come later!! on the gas pedal i'm going to order the spacer for it to get more travel in the pedal i think its 1/4"-1/2" spacer

anyways heres the pics
