Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Those ladies aren't his type. He's a free-range kinda rooster.
Hey, now I get your user name. You gots a Crackerbox... and other cool heavy haulers. Actually, maybe I already knew that and forgot, so please my rambilng. That JD forklift is about the same age as a Ford I redid a while back. Handy dandy! |

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
What's up? Last post was almost a week ago. Is Monroe on the road, lost, kidnapped...anything at all to hold people's interest in this thing?

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Poor Monroe ,missing in action again ,hope he makes a appearance soon.

Again?! Gees. What a shame.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Can whoever had him last and shipped him to the chickennapper out the member so we can harass him ?
|
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Where's the chicken scratch? Hello? This isn't how it works. The attention is supposed to be on seeing and commenting on all the cool interesting creative things Monroe does with various members around the country, not "Hey what's up??", "Is he still alive?", "I wonder where he is now?", "Are we still doing this?".
Seriously, what the heck happened? CG gave up and passed it on to a very eager member who said he would take over. There was more interest shown in this thread once Monroe disappeared than when it was rolling. So, he sends Monroe out to the new "chicken master", he posts a few pictures with comments, then vanishes without a word?? I don't get it. |
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
I come to this thread everyday hoping to see him back in action . Poor confuse little Rooster .
|
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
Hope none of the guys who find it too difficult & time consuming to take a rubber chicken down to the post office & stick him in a box, address it & pay $14 to send him to the next member have parts for sale on the parts board- crazy
|
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
😢 another lost Monroe
|
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
You must always remember it's just a rubber chicken and life trumps a rubber chicken.
This is why i took my name out of the hat, although i was looking forward to having him. This is my crazy time of year and if i got him during the week i would have had to send him on, so why waste the money, maybe he'll show up again |
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
He doesn't need to go on some crazy outing. But some people get a kick out of doing it that way, and its fun to see the pics.
Last time when we sent Bonni round the world lots of people just took a few shots around their homes, which takes no time at all, and sent Bonni on his way. Tons of great pictures posted that way. That's a big part of the reason to see that Monroe only stays a few days in one spot. Hey I work for NASA and I can get Monroe on the Mars probe. He will be at the next board members house in 60 years. Sounds cool, but fizzzzzzle. Its not a one upsmanship thing. Its just a bunch of grownups goofing around. And if the grownups are lucky enough they can get their kids to play along too. The board has been changing over the last few years thanks to Facebook, Instagram, and whatever new internet sensation has sprung up. I do miss the comradre that was more predominate awhile back. But what can you do? |
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
I missed the Bonnie thread so I was really looking forward to this one.

So where is he? I see the first and last guy to have him posting elsewhere on the site yet nothing here. Isn't he the one running this? Wouldn't there be reason to check the thread when you are running it? I just don't get it |
Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
I agree with Tim, all of us have busy lives and have other things in life to do. But this is just some entertainment in life and to do something in enjoyment for the forum. I have a busy life myself as operations manager and the head of my household. My family even enjoyed playing along with the Monroe thing, my wife actually took the time to pick up the box at the post office and spent two days taking pics with him. So its all in fun and if one doesn't have the time to perform the duties of coordinating don't say you will and then disappear from the whole thread. I would have loved to taken this role but also knew I would not have ample enough time to care for the thread.. :smoke:

Shazam! Monroe showed up today- he was very irritated & in a fowl mood. He said he was tired of being cooped up in a box most of the time & demanded more action! He claims he never received the "calm down" memo. My daughter instantly claimed him & set him up for his first photo. Looking forward to getting to know him over the next couple days

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
glad he made there safe and sound.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!
He's alive and well! Can't wait to see how the visit goes. Looks like he made a new friend already.

Show and tell day for Monroe. Took him out to I & my dad's barn and workshop. Monroe has grown quite fond of the 67-72's- I warned him that I don't have the collection that some of the guys on here do (Lock doc- etc). These are two of my trucks (the spare worked great to hold Monroe up- he's a wobbly sucker).
