Re: Project: Shiro
Hey Buck, do you want to sell your NOS rockers??? I thought with the price as is you might sell off some parts....
|
Re: Project: Shiro
No, not going to sell any of the sheet metal. Probably going to start replacing that stuff if it doesn't sell soon.

Knocked out some things that have been naggin' me since I Shiro arrived almost a year ago, it's about time right? ;) Installed a billet radio bezel because one of the previous owners was a douche. I replaced the turn signal switch because it failed to self cancel and was pretty much a sloppy POS.
So I arrive to pick up my turn signal switch at the local NAPA Auto Parts and I'm greeted by this behemoth sittin' low. Attachment 1309074 They call it the NAPAllac... :metal: Attachment 1309075 Here is the radio bezel after install, I think I will have all the chrome bits powder coated or painted satin black when/if I blow this thing apart. Attachment 1309076 Here is the signal switch as it comes from NAPA. Not a fan of the pigtail that must be used but after you hide it behind the dash it is soon forgotten. Attachment 1309077 And here is the finished product. It's crisp and tight and I love having the self cancelling function. :uhmk: Attachment 1309078 I'll try and get a pic or video of the dash lights working as they should... and it only took 10 months to fix them. :ito: |

It's so nice to have gauge lights that actually work. Glad I finally squared that away.

Played around in the garage a little today. Installed an actual 6 cylinder tachometer, it's nice to know what RPM the old stove-bolt is turning. ;)

Well, I finally got the truck up on the blocks and ready for disassembly.
Attachment 1322043 Figured I'd start at the front so I pulled the grill. Attachment 1322044 |

After pulling the grill I found some evidence to help answer the question about this strange hole in the firewall.
Attachment 1322045 Holes in the core support for the freon lines. Attachment 1322046 Passenger side mounting hole for the condensor. Attachment 1322047 Driver side mounting hole for the condensor. Attachment 1322048 I figure the truck had an aftermarket A/C unit at some point. Not really a big deal but I have been curious about it since the truck was delivered. Mystery solved!! |
Re: Project: Shiro
Sure you'll find some more mysteries.
