Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
time for a little update, the rear suspension had to be removed, because we're going with a diffrent set-up, one that matches the front...so the new ECE trailing arms, and xmember were removed and sold..also here are the pics of the inside door latch as requested (hope this helps).....

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Where at in tulsa are you picking up these fine motors?
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
while the rear suspension is all apart, i took the opertunity to weld on a drain and fill port on the rear end....this has to be one (of many) dumb things ford did, make the 9" so that you must remove the wheels, brakes, axles, and thirdmember, just to change the rear end fluid...that is just dumb planning IMO...

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
don't hit anything with that drain while driving, that would leave a mess... are you gonna put a guard on it?
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
i dont think that'll be a problem.... ill have to see what its gonna look like with the new suspension, but im sure it'll be fine. if not ill make it flush
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Are you going with a 4 link on the rear now?
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
got the bridge made for the rear c-notches.... i made it outta 1.5" DOM with a 3/16" wall...made a little bend in the middle on both, cut to length, welded on...also made a "killer2" logo to match the front PB dropmember logo...

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
got the missing rod ends for the PB TAs, and installed everything...which leads to a problem, the "killer2" logo i made to go across the bridge, hits the rear end when aired out...so it'll have to be cut out and moved up about 1"..

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
welp after installing the PB rear suspension, the added drop put the rear end at a crazy bad angle...so the rear end was pulled out, mounting pads cut off, set proper pinion angle at ride height, and weld them back on.... also the shocks bottomed out before the bags were fully compressed (also do to the added drop of the PB arms)... so the old shock mounts were removed, new ones made, and installed on the bridge....now with the taken care of, since the 6L80E is so big and the new PB setup, we're gonna have to tunnel the cab (all this will be hidden under the center console), and make the hoop bigger on the PB crossmember.. ill get pics of that when the time comes...

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Nice work, I hate doing things twice but when you're going custom it happens sometimes...especially when you step up to the newest and best components...going to be an awesome truck!

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
You do nice work D.. that's good you check all that stuff some folks just set it up and that's that ....

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
You are doing an awesome job on the build. Have you considered having the Nathan cut the logo in the bridge plate too.
I don't see what you have done being on the same quality level as the rest of your build. |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
WOW Off the hizzhook! Can't wait to see it done.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Quick question pertaining to the rear setup- At full dump, how far is the frame off the ground?
Great looking build. I've been sitting on the sidelines watching this for quite some time now. You do amazing work. |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Thanks so much for letting me see your work! It has helped me out a great deal.
Thanks Ray |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
got some brakes in.... they are massive, 14.5" rotors all round, 4 piston polished alumnium brembo style calipers, and braided brake lines....also got another electric style master cyliner/power booster....
the calipers are 12" long and nearly 7" wide, and they look BIG, as well as the ROTORS themselves....everything installed with no problems, except the rears....the rear caliper mounting bracket mounting holes were off by .25"....im gonna call the company (abspowerbrake.com) and let them know, so they'll send me the correct brackets...but here is how big they are, and them mounted on the truck with 22s and 20s http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250002.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250004.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250005.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250008.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250010.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250011.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250012.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250014.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250015.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/PB250017.jpg |

Just a little bigger and you wouldn't need the wheels and tires.

SWEET!!!!
I'll have to go with a shorter tire for that one to work for me. I'm using the itsy bitsy 13" Corvette front brakes and Camaro 12" rears. Rotor envy.............:whine: I feel totally inadequite now. :( I'm waiting for XXL to chime in with a totally inappropriate picture for this. |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
looking good Don!
