To about where the toe board meets the firewall. The original firewall mat/insulation were still in primo shape so I didn't mess with it. My burb has been gutted, so I'll go all the way up on it.

that is what i was thinking with mine since it is bare as the burb. will you just cut around everything or leave an opening with the brake cluster and circuit breaker box.

Rob...
It appears you used braided flex for your entire fuel line setup. Why not aluminum, say from the pump to the firewall?

The braided lines made it easier connecting all the components. Plus I already had about 15' of the line, :).

Sorry late posting answers, I kinda lost this thread.....:uhmk:

Good question. I'm waiting on my master cylinder and a few other parts, so cross your fingers. Here's a few more pictures of today's progress.

Looking pretty good.....:metal:
Definetly need some awesome brakes to stop that beast.

What kit did you buy? as I have to do my four wheel disc ASAP as my truck has way too much power and a fast driver for the factory new brake system to stop it...It is ok if just cruising but if I get on it takes a little more road to stop.

Al, I used the same kit that I put on the Suburban, it's the CPP 13" front (with modular spindles) and their 12" rear setup. I am using their MCPV-1 master cylinder also.

Thanks rob....I wonder If I would still be able to use my spindles as I have the ones from ECE?

I think they have a kit that will work with the stock spindle setup but I'm not 100% sure. Call Jeff at CPP and I'm sure he can explain the differences.

Have you driven your truck since you did the brakes ? What's your opinion of the modular spindle ? Any mods that you had to do to use them ? Did they (the spindles ) change the wheel centerline any ? Any other thoughts .... I am looking into spindles and brake options for my 68 swb that I am building .
Appreciate it as always !

I still have to put the front spindles on (this weekend) and re-run my new lines when they show up. So it will probably be some time next week.... I did get my rear end cover today, :metal:.

The bolts apply pressure to the main caps.

Do you have lowering blocks? I'm running a 2" one.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

No lowering blocks, 5" springs. I only have 1/4" clearance. Just trying to help.
