Updated pic, I think I am going to leave the Impala hubcaps off and go with a smaller 6-lug center cap from a newer chevy truck... Opinions welcomed!

Are you going to leave them black. It looks like you have two different styles going on. Street truck wheels and classic truck paint. I don't really like the Impala hubcaps but I would have to see the new style center caps you are thinking of. Maybe you could just paint the hubs the same color as the weals and get some fancy lug nuts or a baby moon style cap to make them look more old school.

Yeah I definitely see what you mean. I originally just wanted to go with something that looked kind of classic but a little larger (hence the steelies). I have tossed around painting the wheels to match the roof, but I worry about it being too much teal.

Thanks for the feedback! I like the fancy lugnut idea, I'll start looking into that and possibly something that will cover up just the hub.

If you are worried about to much teal, white might look nice but I think the teal would balance it out.

I vote for the teal also. leave the trim rings off at first and see what it looks like and if you think there is to much green put them back on. Or have a pinstriper put a duel white pinstripe on the wheels to tie them in.

Fine you guys have me convinced! I found a plasti-dip that looks really close to it, I think I'll put that on at least two wheels just to see how it looks, then look into getting them paint matched. Hopefully updated pics coming soon....

This may be a stupid question but I don't know that I've ever had hubcaps on my vehicles. Will these rims accept hub caps? If so what kind? I don't know if they are original, my spare is the old split rim type. When I bought the truck it had 3 out of 4 beauty rings so I removed them & have since painted my wheels when I sprayed the truck.

Roll around wheels painted red yesterday made me grin too.

And the future......

Not yet decided if it will be black walls or skinny white walls.

howdy. i'm pretty sure you've got the same wheels as I have on my 1966 C20. Mine had the original "dog bowl" hubcaps when I bought it. I wasn't a fan at all, so took them off.

15x7 front and 15x8 rear truck rallys. Not sure about backspace. Tires are 215/75-15 on front and 235/75-15 on rear. Tires are too narrow on both ends in my opinion. Hoping to find a set of aluminum slots to put on it soon.
Oh and the truck has been lowered by someone else by heating tje coils. Ill be putting new stock springs on this weekend hopefully.

Not to say that 235/75 x15 would not be a good size but I would go through some of the pictures threads and see what you like and then ask that person what size they are. Also maybe Palf70Step has that size on his truck and you can see how they look on his. I wouldn't just jump at the first recommendation you get. I am sorry if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help.

Has anyone ever installed clips on rally wheels and put a stock chrome hubcap on them? Im thinking about doing it but wanted to see a picture of it if possible before i drill and tap holes in my wheels.

Palf70Step 03-14-2016 06:11 PM

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

BTW I agree with forestb....I just gave you that info as with that skinny a rim, that is about the biggest tire you can properly put on that rim. It will be tall like stock, but should safely handle the weight and also easy to get good low priced tires with. I have wider rims o my truck and lower profile tires on mine.
