That steering wheel is awesome! Care to share details?

superflysteiny 03-22-2011 12:18 PM

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

What would you like to know about the steering wheel

superflysteiny 03-22-2011 12:43 PM

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

I took the steering wheel completely apart and the looms and had them coated satin black the same as the frame. The battery box will be in the bed next to the tank. Should look cool.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

I was just curious if it was a production piece or if you custom made it (like everything else :metal:) Supplier info, diameter, direct fit or adapter.... etc

superflysteiny 03-22-2011 04:59 PM

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

This is a billet specialies classic wheels and the smooth horn button and adapter for a chevy column. I had it powder coated. The wire looms are billet specialties too.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Thanks Karl. Here is what I finished last night. I made a cut through for the air lines and the wires and built a box so you would not see any of the wires or air lines from the bed. I welded nuts into the floor so i could mount the air tank to the false floor. I also finished under coating the bed. http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...DSC_0595-1.jpg

I also finished cutting the hole for the battery box.:metal:

looking good , time for some spray in bedliner now , i dont know what brand you like but i sure like the texture that Line-ex has i think it is the most even texture, doesnt look like cottage cheese like some of the others do

superflysteiny 03-23-2011 11:41 AM

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

I am going with the line-x it has the best texture, could not agree more. Also not done framing in the bat. Box should have it done tonight

Soon I will have 5-6 (or hopefully 20) pictures of Pops 72 on there.

Now back to the topic of this build...

Great looking build so far man!!! Mario at Novelli Rod & Custom told me about it. Been talking to him about some paint & body work on my truck. What are your thoughts on him & his shop anyway? Will keep an eye on you're build to see how it turns out.

Well its Mario and his father Bill, they are the only two in the shop. His father is a master metal man and body man. Mario and his father can do anything from metal, body, engines. They are two of the best in the buisness and I say this from experiance. This is why I say that, they are doing the body and paint on the 66 dibella. I brought the truck to them with the bed painted. They tore the paint of the bed and began doing little metal mods to the bed to improve the body line of the bed. This was not part of are deal they were only supposed to paint the truck, but they went the extra step for me because there name goes on the product. I have seen them does this many times on customers cars. Here is another huge plus about Novelli there metal work needs very little mud I am talking a skim coat at the most. Now this quality has to be paid for but if you want it right then go to them. The reason they dont have employees is because they can find anyone to do these cars the way they do and it has created more head aches then its worth. Plus they don't loss control of there quality. A+ you cant go wrong

superflysteiny 04-02-2011 10:33 AM

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Ok here is the deal. Super buisy at work so I fell off a little on the project. Tore the motor out last night sanded it and now it will be painted today. Bed is done here are the pics. I am trying to get the cab on sunday morning. Then back to my house to finish the trim. Then off to paint the inside of the truck.http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...chevy065-3.jpg
