A snapshot my Dad took when he was in the Checkers MC in the early fifties. I've got a few similar to this that I scanned.

Looks like they're already wheelie-bar equipped! I'm willing to bet not one of those cars in that picture is around today. |

Man I never saw them ship cars like that either, guess there testing the front seals in the engine and the tranny or something LOL.Special-K gotta love them STUDES,there's a guy here that has one in the I'm thinkin in the late forties or fifties, that's on a 4x4 frame used to see him using it as a truck as he was always pulling junk cars to the crusher.Out of all the trucks and suburbans I owned all have been 4x4's except 1.Guess what ME likes 4x4's.So keep the pics coming..

These were some great vintage pics. Seems like people don't take family pictures in front of their new rides anymore. I guess it just doesn't have the same appeal

Here's my Dad's old 64 Chevy 1/2 ton. These are the only two pictures he has of it. I remember flipping through the family photo album as a teenager just to gaze at these two pictures. I remember thinking I'd never seen such a mean looking truck before! It was these two pictures that influenced me to buy a 66 GMC 910 when I was 16, which ended up being my first registered, insured vehicle a few years later. My dad isn't into vehicles at all and didn't talk me into liking the truck other than to say, "I miss that old truck" and "It was that truck that made your mother want me.."
