wow! how amazing - the 4.8 is nothing to sneeze at. There is an article showing a junkyard 4.8 was boosted to 1200 HP without breaking and small bolt-ons with stock internals :) cool coincidence on the BMWs - yes, I have had a total of about 11 over the last few years. If you have any questions, let me know |

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
I just came from Auto Metal Direct. What an awesome facility! I wanted to get a new part for Dianah (driver side fender). The showroom is really nice. As I have told you throughout this thread, their parts are top notch, and local.
If you need any parts, call them... 866-591-8309. The gentleman that helped me is Jeff. Great guy! |
Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
I have a couple questions, you mentioned something about needing a wilwood slave cylinder?
Did you do anything with the reverse solenoid or does the computer still control it? Do you paint everything with a spray can? You mentioned having a "4-link" but I only see 2 lower bars. Do you have a better picture of the rear suspension? curious how you ran the other bars. Thanks, Great job, truck looks great |

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
Wassup Leon!!! Thanks for posting such an informative build thread,I'm not on fb,so it's great to be able to see this awesome truck take shape!! I am currently working on a 69 swb gmc, 350, 4 speed Muncie.. I also have an 82 lwb chevy that's about 80% complete.. After viewing your build, the 82 will be riding "shop truck" daily driver for a min!! I must start on the 69!! I'm in Florence, SC so we are not too far apart. Maybe, I'll get to see DD at the annual run to the sun in myrtle beach in March!! Take care man!!

Small Update: I ordered some CPP Tubular control arms today. Going to order PB Hood Hinges. I think you see the 20x10s stuffed in there. Going to make provisions to go wider since I did the tubs (20x12 or 13) in preparation for the turbo. |
Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
CPP arms finally came in. Going to install today, along with new outers, inners, idler and pitman arms. Then back to the alignment shop. The CPP pieces look amazing!

I have made significant progress as of late. Technically all I have to do is wire the ignition switch and I can start the engine, but there are still some other small things that need to be done before I can drive it. |

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
Hello everyone! Hope you are doing great!
I have not posted in a while. I have since upgraded to QA-1 Shocks all the way around. They are 18-way adjustable, and let me tell you, they have done an amazing job! I have the fronts set to +6 clicks and the rear at +5 clicks. That works at the ride height that you will see in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPrU7S6fFwk |
Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
I enjoy watching your videos... Your stepper is one of my favorites. Keep'em coming:metal:

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
Nice build, very similar to what im going for. Mines a 69 gmc on porterbuilt but my engine and tens will have nothing on yours lol. Can you prove the bs on your 20's as well as tire sizes? Also are you laying frame on the 20's and how much clearance to you have over the rear tires? Thanks for any help.

20x8.5, 5.25 BS. 245/35/20 20x10, 6.225 BS. 295/30/20 Lays frame. All the way down. I do have them tubbed. It's a snug fit. But I'd say .5" clearance. Will be going more hardcore later when I need to fit 12" wide and turbo. |

My raised bed floor is 8" from the top if I remember correctly. There are actual tubs that are large enough for a 22x13 wheel to fit. |
Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
Sent thanks, I have been thinking about buying a spare set of rear fenders and using them as tubs and just narrow them to whatever I end up needing,

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
I know it has been a while...
I have done a lot in the last few years. Most recently I have begun the process for installing the turbo setup. More to come! |
Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
It's good to see you again Leon.
Turbo for the win! Are you doing a single or twin? |
Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
So, I'm on page 4 of this thread and really enjoying this.....just reading along.................................................and..................................
HOPING FOR SOME REALLY GOOD INSPIRATION AND INFORMATION AND PICTURES regarding the T56/6.0 swap. Please thread.......please don't let me down. I seemingly cannot find a good thread to give me the proper inspiration to take the plunge on a T56 instead of the more common auto swap. |
