Dang man. I'm liking your truck. I grew up in Grants Pass myself. My dad had a white '65 long bed with a 292. That thing would put a whippin on my '62 with a 283 in it. Love those motors.

Neat. What kind of a cam did you end up going with?

BTW, a note for other 292 fans; the LPG pistons are still available.

I had read in the past several times that they were out of production, but they aren't; Summit has them for $256 a set. Just search Sealed Power 980P; the last two digits after the P will be the overbore (980P20=.020", etc.). :chevy:

That's part of the big secret! lol! Summint just barely started selling the LPG pistons because a few months ago when I was looking at summit for pistons they only had stock type for the 292. Cool to see a "budget set" though....mine were $600....But mine are a forged aluminum set as well.

Or are you gonna take 2 v/8 Aluminum heads and cut 1 cylinder off each 1 and weld together and redrill the block for the heads to bolt up.. Hmm this could get interesting.

Hey TJ, I had not run across your thread before. Happened upon it, and just finished going through it from the beginning. Love your truck, and your journey to date, and I was very surprised to learn how young you are. You seem wise and mature well beyond your years, and it is great to see a young guy like yourself having such a keen interest in the old chevy iron!! Keep on keeping on, looking forward to following your future progress.
