I missed this- Chris are you moving the rear end 1" forward on the springs?

Most of you know that Chris was injured very badly in a shop fire a couple weeks ago. I have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help Chris (AKA SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge) and his family with medical expenses. Please share this with as many people as possible. Chris was the first to help with any questions, lets see if we can help him out here: Chris Klapp, AKA: SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge

damn, that's news to me. Sorry to hear. I have a friend that was badly burnt at his work a year ago, he still is far from recovered. his whole upper body and head got hit. I hope Chris didn't get it as bad, esp the hands. This world has a very unjust balance.

Shawn,
I had no idea that Chris had was involved with a shop accident. That sucks.
I'm not that proficient with Crowd funding and all that, but do you have an address where people could send a check to help him out?

Thanks,
Todd.

Chris' wife posted this on his Facebook page yesterday:

"Chris had surgery today and he did well. They did a trac and cleaned up some of his burn areas. He is doing well this evening other than a slight fever."

Chris loves working on these trucks, when he was building my truck it was hard to tell who was more excited, me or him. Chris was always the first to offer any advice to the forum members here. Pleasde help him and his family via the GoFundMe campaign that I set up to help Chris (AKA SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge) and his family with any medical expenses. Here is the link to the campaign

Thank you to all who have donated! As you can see we cracked the $2000 mark and we are now almost halfway to the $5000 goal. Please keep spreading the word so we can help Chris out, donations can be made here or clinking the link in my signature. Additionally if you would please insert the Chris' link into your signature so it will show up on all the threads you reply on.

Chris has been in ICU almost a month now, here is the latest update from his wife.

By Jennifer Klapp — Aug 3, 2015 3:34pm

Chris is doing well, not much has really changed. He is off the ventilator during the day, night they put him on because of his sleep apnea. He is aware of the comings and goings in his room and will slightly respond to questions, by shrugs or shaking of head, or blinking. He is moving a little bit, I am sure his legs and arms feel as though they weigh a ton. He is still on dialysis, but is putting out urine, so they are slowly kicking back on. They are worried that he may have pneumonia again, but they watching. He is slowly getting to the point to were he will be able to have visitors, just need to get him out of ICU portion of the burn center

Let's see if we can get this ball rolling again. We need about $1900 to get the $5000 goal. Please share this and lets help out Chris. He is making some progress but is still facing a long recovery battle. Please donate here: http://gofundme.com/c49h5mjx8

Updated from Chris' Wife. We still need about $2k to hit the $5k goal

So naturally things have changed since the beginning of the week. He is no longer having the skin flap done until they can get this infection in and around his lungs resolved. So tomorrow Chris will be having surgery to have the fluid that developed on the outside of his lungs removed. Then in a couple of weeks once infection is not a worry they will do the skin flap on his elbow.

Every day he is becoming more aware of everything around him. Yesterday I got to tell him about what has happened since he has been in the hospital. How there was a time when we didn't know if he was going to make it through the night. It was a little hard and I don't know how much he understood. Probably more than I believe he understood.

Thank you for all the support and prayers that you all have been sending our direction.

Shawn great build and I hope that Chris has a speedy recovery. That is horrible what happened but glad to hear that Chris is getting better everyday. I just got my 53 5 window on Tuesday and my S10 donor yesterday so I cant wait to get started but have so many questions for Chris and you, if you have time.

For all of you kept me and mine in your thoughts and prayers, thank you. I am slowly recovering. It will be a while before I am building any trucks though. LOL

I have the same wiper motor setup. Mine whines like crazy. Hopefully, it'll be less noticeable once all the interior is in and the motor running. But it's pretty loud. Was this one loud too?

Never had that problem, I think you may have a defective one!

FWIW had i known i was going to have to add a vacuum booster pump on mine (for the brakes) i woulda kept the old vacuum wipers. New electrics are just ok but miss the old whoosh-whoosh sound iva had over these last 50 years

Not sure if anyone is still following this thread but I have decided to explore the market and see if anyone might be interested in buying Cecil. I have to many “toys” and Cecil doesn’t get the attention he deserves. He is basically the same as the thread build except we went back to a carburetor setup.

Id love to have that truck but way too many irons in the fire for me. Im sure you won't have any trouble selling it. I still have a dash hanging in my shop I got from Chris.

I may just send Cecil an auction, although I would rather it go to someone who followed the build and was a fan of Chris’ ability to merge the S10 frames with these old bodies.
