I just talked to the owner. Nice guy. He's owned it since 1984. It's a TIGHT fit for a 72'. The bathroom bump in the passenger rear of the trailer makes it a tough one. Owner has a 71 Ford and my 72 Chevy K20 is 1/4" narrower at the tailgate width than his truck. My wheel well is wider- so it might fight- but would be tight..

Anyway- there are a number of people that he has already talked to about that rig, so he's going to give me a call back if it doesn't sell before the weekend. If it's available- the wife and I gonna drive the old rig over there and see if it fits :) Owner lives in a gorgeous area of Montana- near the Big Hole and Wisdom.

Unfortunately if that is the case- it ain't making its way to TX! ;)

Aw, rub it in now! Ha. I hope you get it. And then drive to TX (and decide you don't really want it anymore about the time you're passing fort worth...) ;)

Shorty P30 Gruman aluminum stepvan. $2000
I looked at this Sat. and it's just too small for my 2 person camper conversion idea. Body measures 8' from back of the door. Seems like a nice guy, used this for his electrical business for many years. Says it has about 25-30 thousand mi. on a Jasper 350/350 eng/trans. When he got a new work truck he was gonna use this eng/trans for a hot rod project but didn't. Has receipts for maint. on other components. I drove it around for awhile and it seems to drive & run good.... shifts, runs cool. PS, PB(hydroboost). It's USED & bumped up some ... RR corner(top) is crunched a little and the R.front glass is cracked. All the doors work. Looks like a pretty good deal for $2000. Wish it was about 2' longer for my purposes.

If this were an 8 footer, I'd be sharing what I'd just bought in a different thread - just not a fan of driving with the gate down and the camper extending all the way to the end of it. But still, a real nice Alaskan. Now if only I could find an 8' version in similar condition, in Texas...

Tempting (and thank you), but for some reason I don't really like the look of the 10 footers hanging out on the down tailgate, looks like it's about to fall out :) It IS a nicer camper than an 8 footer, that extra 2' really helps, but I think I'm gonna have to pass. Thanks again though, much appreciated!

thanks Joe! that's one of my favorite colors and year! while I have the 65 out here, only one truck on the farm right now and it has a 425 gallon water tank in it most of the time.. could really use an affordable old reliable pickup and a long-long bed would be great.. few more years when I retire there, could work on bringing it back to top condition :)

That would be nice if it goes from one board member to another. Would definitely make the transaction smoother I would think.

Craig, I sent a pm and text. I think ant of the above on getting it to your farm. I would not pay a transport as I have a trailer if you did not want to drive it for fair compensation. That is up to you but it will go down the interstate just fine. Thanks Russ

I love white trucks with blue interiors. You just cannot find that combination on new trucks!

I agree! It sucks!! -50 in the winter, 100deg and smoke filled skies in the summer.

North Dakota is much, much nicer!

Hopefully it’s one of those deals where the wife says “you’ve got to sell that truck”. He then agrees but lists it for stupid money. See honey, it’s for sale.
