I guess that's the guy. His sculptures are throughout the town and just outside of town along the road in from the south is a big stallion.

This must have been his shop. I think it was a motorcycle repair shop and I assume also his "studio"

I'll bet you're right. It would take a lot of avgas to get a helicopter high enough to shoot an aerial picture of your place from here...

past the accident also. No one appeared to be hurt or actually excited. Quite strange actually.

Well, it's such a narrow parking strip...

my folks bought a couple of these over the years, sometimes they would send a postcard beforehand

photos taken from airplanes and they would bring different sizes out, prices were negotiable ;)

I suspect their prices have gone up if they're even still in business

We have several of those kinds of pics from the farm my wife grew up on (over 100 years in her family). Her uncle was a helicopter pilot and he had his own helicopter, one of those kind you used to see on MASH. He took all the pics and did it of other folks too, only charge was the cost of the pics.

When I first became a part of her family nearly 40 years ago they had family picnics every summer and he would land his helicopter in the field and give rides. I never did it, chickened out lol.

Plus there's Google Earth and drones, so that thins things down. The business is out of WA State. I guess pilots were like franchises around the nation who sent the images back to the home office. The home office name and address are on the back

That's neat. But I don't think I want any helicopter rides, either. There's something about an aircraft that can't soar when power is lost

Those are great. It was a good service. I forget how they sold me mine. I'm not one who takes well to attempts to sell me a thing I'm not shopping for. but I was shown the picture first, however it went. Pretty neat but I was about to turn it down when I noticed my son in the back yard looking up at the helicopter. SOLD!

I used to have a lab mix who seemed to think the world of me. He once crawled under a truck and laid on top of me while on a creeper. Maybe I kinda liked him too.

Today was a pretty nice day, so I loaded up the wife and Molly Dawg, then drove out to the daughter and son n laws place. It rained pretty good overnight and the ground was so saturated water was running like a spring out of the ground and the pond was full.

Home of the Stanley Steamer. I looked the town up. Looks like a place I could live. Gateway to Sugarloaf Ski Area, Appalachian Trail, Historic town

Stone culvert under the C&O Canal that most people bicycle or hike over without knowing.

The life of my '95 Chevy in three pictures

How I bought it off a used car lot. Emerald Green/Grey interior 6.5TD/5spd Cheyenne former masonry contractor truck in '98
Attachment 2329467

How it ended up, minus the ladder rack and custom tonneau cover. GM color Fairway Green with upgraded GM cloth seat re-cover and a host of mods
Attachment 2329468

It's sad ending. An accident had literally just been cleared from a sharp curve descending into the river valley/county line. I hit antifreeze and it was slick as ice. Only doing 40 in 4th gear but the tail end slide out, I steered into it as usual, and it whipped back to slide out the other way, putting me sliding sideways across the lanes. I did a reverse t-bone into a Taurus which flipped me up clear over the car landing on it's lid against the bank on the opposite side of the road. No sooner had I shut it down and undid my seat belt and I heard someone say "Watch your eyes", before breaking my window out. It was the county sheriff who had just turned around at the river coming back up after he left the prior accident. EMT Suburban was behind him. Just plain bad luck. The officer asked if I was ok as I crawled out and I said, "I'm pretty bummed out". This was Oct '04, about a month before I joined here

Thanks. I built it to be the ultimate work truck. I had the local race chassis builder build me a heavy duty 4-ling air bag rear suspension, so I could drop the tail end down for unloading the racks. The racks were two-stage powder coat in gun metal grey, then had Line-X mask them off to coat from about 1/4" over the top on the outer side all the way across to the other side, in dark grey. I had my upholstery guy make a tonneau cover out of grey truck tarp material. L.E.D.s with strobes, the list went on.
