All that work looks great. I have a bead roller but not a lot of experience. I did make floor pans for a custom truck once that were just ok.

I have the Woodward Fab bead roller, probably a lot like yours.

Had to run down to the hardware store today for a 1 3/8 fostner bit . On the way back I stopped to fill up my Jeep before the storm this weekend . A NYC DEP guy comes up to me to comment on the Jeep he’s a big enthusiast of the XJ model . He has 3 right now we talk for a bit he’s really liking mine and sure enough he asked if I’d take $3800 for it . I’d double my investment but what would I buy it took me a couple of years of casual looking to find this one . I wasn’t looking actively but my neighbor put this one up and I jumped on it . I told him “Thanks but I really don’t want to sell it “

Ok, '96. I wasn't sure when passenger air bags came out. I actually like that it has a V6. These days I save my bigger motors for bigger heavier trucks that need the added power. That 4.3 will getcha along just fine

actually like that it has a v6. i already got one gas guzzler in the driveway, don't need another.... looked up the specs for a 96, it only has 20 hp and 35 lb ft of torque less than the 350 in my '90. not much plans for it, will be my new daily driver. will be ditchin' the grille guard and them silly a$$ decals though...not into stripe decals or anything like that. bought from an older gent that works for the movie industry, he said he will be home for an hour tonite, so me and the boy are heading out in a few mins, it's approx 40 minutes from me-city truck...

i guess gm figures since your getting a base truck they will snazz it up with silly decals...they too will be coming off..

I think that ZE5 is an owner applied deal. Pretty funny, have stickers made to show off that your truck is nothing special. I think I'll get a windshield banner that says "Base Model" and a vanity tag that says NO OPS  When my '92 K3500 came in the first thing I did when I got home was get the heat gun out and remove the silly 4x4 bedside stickers

It was Jan '22 the last measurable amount of snow has fallen at BWI Airport (Balto). A couple weeks shy of two years. About noon tomorrow the storm will hit here. BWI is getting rain so the streak continues. Here were supposed to get about 4" but rain will mix in. If it's going to snow at all I wish it would be a real snow not this half-assed slushy BS. They already spread metal-eater on the roads around here a good day and a half ahead. I hate it. Even if you stay home when it snows to keep your vehicle out of it, you threw it up on your vehicle on this sunshine day

Great Work and Progress. :metal:

I want to build one with a Foot pedal and adjustable rollers that tilt and also can be set to bead roller height.

Rollers like in the link with custom brackets and some standard adjustable roller stands.

cool,i watch that Make it Kustom guy all the time.he's forgotten more than i'll ever know?i may look into building my own but i'd have to pay for all metal to be cut, machined and so on,i don't know what i'd save other than getting a premium built piece of machinery rather than the china junk from the store?i don't know what it'll take to get his drawings with all the dimensions but i plan to find out.

Today I don't know what I'll be doing. Snow has been called for all week long, so I had things here planned that 4-6" of snow won't get in the way of. But the forecast started changing to my area getting some mixed precip after 3-4", then last night saying it will change to all rain, some mixed, after 2-3" of snow, so most likely all that will get washed away. Now this morning they are saying trace to 1"/mixed/rain earlier. So it's nothing but a cold-ass miserable day that cancels out any inside/outside work. Just yuck!

How much of a football fan are any you? The Ravens and Steelers have their playoff game in Baltimore today where it will be all rain all day. Kickoff is at 4:30 when they are calling for heavy rain @37*. By game end just rain, not heavy, @38*. If these were your teams and you had tickets, would you go to sit for 3 hours at 5* above freezing in soaking rain sitting on a plastic seat? No way Jose! Not me

Still calling for 10-15 inches here I’ll be on the upper range as always because of my elevation.

well after getting my new truck home last night, i spent today going over it with a fine comb.
decals, decals and more decals....
Attachment 2326200

prev owner works in the movie industry
Attachment 2326201

he also owns a twin cam Harley
Attachment 2326202

orig dealer decal. was sold at Preston Chev-Olds
Attachment 2326203

was put together in Indiana
Attachment 2326204

apparentley it had more decals as well. the door rub strip is off both sides cause the first owner was a hot rod shop that used it for a parts chaser, they took the trim off cause the shops decals covered most of the doors...which explains why the trim is missing

it blows me away how strait and untouched the body is
Attachment 2326210

i did find some minor body damage though, the rear bumper has a small dent and there's a small dimple in the pass wheelwell, as well as the chrome peeling off the front bumper
Attachment 2326211Attachment 2326214

have to say, i really like the int upgrades gm did in '95. the dash is waaaay more nicer and easier to reach than the old '90's square dash. went from zero cupholders to 6 cupholders...and the seat is unbelivably comfortable. apparentley the hot rod shop took out the factory bench and the guy i bought it from thinks it was a split out of a yukon maybe. not familiar with this seat, anybody recognize what it's out of?

of course for a for a 27 yr old truck, it does have a couple minor issues.
the prev owner put all new brakes and a master cylinder in, stops like a mother, but the abs light is on. i've heard the sensor behind the front wheel gets moisture in it pretty easily and trips the light. when backing it on my lawn last night, i used 4 lo so i wouldn't tear up my grass, i noticed a slight ticking from the drivers cv, but i got 2 new cv's in my stepper i can rob.
also one corner of the headliner is dropping a bit.
it has 220 000 kms (approx 135 000 miles) and i do need to put new license plate and dome light bulbs in it.
other than that runs so sweet and smooth. had my 90 stepper for 28 yrs, i don't see why this one won't last as long. overall i think it's pretty good considering i paid $6500 for it and i'm hoping to get enough $ selling the grille guard and tool box so i can get a canopy, which i most definitely need so the dawgs can go riding in it.

That tailgate had more identification than an '80s Toyota pickup. I remember in the '80s they had to put the build sheet on the tailgate, Toyota, SR5 or 1 Ton, EFI, and I think V6 all on a little tailgate. I had the '78 Scottsdale 30 Camper Special 454/4spd dually but it just said Chevrolet on the big tailgate (not painted) because you can see what it is. I had a cocky attitude about their so-called 1 Ton pickups, especially when pulled up next to mine. That was a joke. I decided to get a tag that said WON TON () and I had my buddy letter across the top of the tailgate, "No EFI, No O/D. Just A Stinkin' Quadrajet!"

My neighbor across the street was pressure washing his driveway, and I asked him if that thing would take off paint. I didn't mask off a car I painted many years ago well enough, and I had some overspray on the driveway. He started in on it, and it became obvious that the whole driveway would have to be done. Hero! He did it all, before sunset. Still some paint remnants to clean up, but my driveway is tons better. I'll get him a handle of Jack when I go to CostCo tomorrow. He refused any payment, like I used to do for neighbors many years ago. What goes around, comes around! :smoke:

They did overdo it with the decals and the graphics on that rig. But I'll admit, after running my black Z71 for the last 10+ years without the decals, I'm thinking about putting them back on at some point. Taking it back to stock. They're kinda sporty looking against the black.

RECIPE FOR YOU GUYS:

PECAN SANDIES
2 sticks softened salted butter (use real butter)
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp water
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup chopped pecans
powdered sugar to roll in after they're baked

With your mixer, cream the butter, granulated sugar, vanilla, & water well. Then add the flour & chopped pecans and mix into it forms a ball. Chill for at least an hour. Form into walnut sized balls and bake at 325-350 for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown on bottom. Cool completely before rolling around in powdered sugar. Makes about 40 cookies.

I made these. No luck getting over to Lock Doc's in time ; ) so I had to make some myself. They're quick to make and they didn't last long. I like that they only have about a quarter of the sugar of regular cookies and the powdered sugar makes them just sweet enough. Thanks for posting the recipe!

235/85-16 is what came on the 8-lug Square bodies. Tall skinnies. those look good on the GMT400s that came standard with short squatty tires. On my '92 I went to 265/75s within months. Then I saw a Suburban (GMT400) with 285/75s and had to have them. I've been running that size ever since. They require cranking the torsion bars up, but that looks better. stock those trucks sit like a 2wd anyway. I think that's why they started putting 4x4 stickers on the bedside

They do take a lot longer to cook since they don't flatten out like regular cookies. I'm not sure I went the full 30 or 40, but I kept checking the bottom to see if they were browning and pulled them once the bottom started to brown.

That flowmaster cross flow muffler sounds really good on those F-bodies. And the slash cut tips look just right.

I bought it for a parts rig but it's nearly complete and I decided to clean it up and drive it some. I want to go a little wider on the tires and those 265/75s fill in the fenderwells nicely. The Sub is 454/TH400/4.10 so I decided to do what Chevy might have done if there was a Suburban Sport package. Wide tires and white letters FTW! ; )

Is your Suburban a Squarebody? I run 285/75s on my GMT400s and those would bolt right up on a Squarebody with stock suspension. Nice and beefy

That's some meat for sure. Are both of your rigs 4WD? My Burb is a SquareBody and is 2WD. I'm not sure the 285s would fit without rubbing. I'm also going to lower it 3" so it might get tight in there. Thanks for the pics.
