well the wheels fit no problem..but one was so bent it wouldnt make a full rotation without the rim hitting. so i pulled it off..swapped to a new rim.

i already bought a 71-72 prop valve, i just need to figure out what will work with 67 hard lines and 71-72 prop valve.

and i know that square hole is ugly..lol i will make a grommet for them before i hit the road.

lol thanks for the compliments. im really thinking of redoing the rear setup..i would like it to sit a little more even..maybe 2 more inches lower. so im gonna have to figure something out. if it warms up this weekend im gonna start sanding down the jambs and window frame to get ready for some primer.

add some lowering blocks if you havent done so already

kev2809 02-04-2011 11:33 AM

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

already have 2" blocks...and i think thats already pushing it with 15" wheels. what im thinking of doing is getting bag over axle brackets, but im really nervous about welding them myself. what i might do is leave it for now, then when its on the road i can take it to someone more certified than me and let them do it. who knows...well see.

had to call in to work today because we had a freeze over night!! sucks because i cant do anything..my doors are frozen shut on my daily driver truck!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

oh ok, yah moving the bags to a different location will get you some more drop. and that sucks about work and the frozen doors lol.

finally got the damn rims right!!

man it was a hassle...so..close to 6 rims, 2 paint jobs, and numberous trips to the tire place...they should finally be good other than 1 needs to be balanced (second shop didnt do it but sure did charge me)...oh and about 140 in tires (used, but A LOT of tread left), 35 in mounting and new valve stems, and another 20 for a rim i needed...so about 200 bucks in the hole..but i guess its not so bad. i need to clean up the white walls on the tires so i should have some pics up tomorrow. i can finally say..its a roller now! lol. i did plan on doing the rear brakes but i can wait at a later date for that one. anyways..pics tomorrow!

ya, that infanti kit is def gonna save me some time...cant wait to start on it. im not sure why the hell the rims were bent, there is no telling what the po did and didnt pay attention too. i ended up goin with one a little smaller than what i wanted but oh well... 215/70/15. all 4 have a good 1/2" of tread left, and all with a whitewall.

will finish sanding up the last jamb on friday, and the window frame and get those primered. will start on the doors if i have enough time saturday...its getting there!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

well, took a step forward and 2 back today. got the door jambs and window frame sanded down and ready to spray. after repairing a few rust spots on the 3rd door rocker area for about an hour and a half, i discovered the bottom had rust pits as well so i had to order a new one...sucks. wasted time on that one. i also found a few small rust holes on the driver side rocker, the part i didnt replace lol. that will hopefully be an easy fix in the morning, then i will spray the jambs except the 3rd door area. i should have some pics up tomorrow.

i also found out my shocks were holding me from laying out in the back, so i removed them and it went down about another 1.5"-2" :metal: plan on chopping off the top mounts and turning them and re welding them in. i did notice the driver side rear bag was a little crooked when aired out so i will be taking it back off and enlarging the hole and hopefully it will fix it.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

lol..ill probably start on shaving the firewall once i yank the motor out.

well, i did get to shoot the jambs yesterday but im having problems loading the pics..
i had a hell of a time, i believe my compressor is going out on me. it sounds like a train wreck when its on, i can only leave it on for a few minutes and it sounds like it wants to blow up lol. so i had to rush spraying the jambs before i ran out of pressure, so they turned out like crap. well, at least the bare metal is covered, so i guess i can scuff and shoot when i get it fixed. i believe i will take the doors and front clip to my buddys shop and work on it there so im not wasting anytime.

anywho, will post some pics as soon i get this working..

got the pics to work...not the best quality but you get the idea lol

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...213_152443.jpg

heres the back showing it went down a little more with the shocks removed..
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...213_152505.jpg

i althought this was a little weird, seems like the rear axle is too far forward..? not sure how that happened, i dont think i ever completely took it off.

driver side..
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...213_152513.jpg

passenger side..
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...213_152531.jpg

and heres a pic showing the bag not centered right i guess. i do need to adjust the bar over maybe half an inch or an inch, i think that will help it center better. the passenger side is perfectly centered though, so i believe if i move it over it will make that one flatten sideways. but, if they are just slightly off, i will just weld beads along the trailing arm to make sure they dont come apart from any twisting.
