Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Its good to be different. Thumbs up on the orange. What color are the leafs and axles gonna be?
|
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Just walked through the garage to get some more wood, turned on the lights and I was like :ack:dayum, what did I just do.
Leafs will be black, probably the axles too. I'm thinking the orange will tone down a lot as parts get installed. |

Very cool, I wonder how a satin orange would look.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Kurt, what shackle flip do you think is the better solution? ORD or DIY? Thanks Trevor

That and the fact that his customer service & attention to keeping a customer happy/satisfied made it an easy choice. So after seeing it 60% done, I decided the orange fame thang didn't fit this project/build to well and changed the frame color to gray. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Looked good either way, i'm anxious to see it all come together.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
I think it looks good gray as well.
What color are you going with for the body? Or are you staying with the orange? |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Kurt, three more questions,
1: Whose ORD shackle flip is that, that is on the frame now? 2: Is that the 4" Shackle flip for DIY? 3: Can you look at our homemade shackle flip that is on my build thread for "The Bluedress" Our frame is about to go to powdercoat and I don't want to have any problems later down the line. I believe my dad might have made it drop down too far. Thanks bud. |

He's fast I tell ya. And does good work. Wish he lived next door and I could afford to have him work some magic on my pet project. That's something to ponder.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
this is gonna be a sweet truck..NOTE i said TRUCK not SUV!
this project is making me glad i have a 70 i like the look.... still goin with the hide-all- white though... Although after seeing a 67 SWB stepper in Wheatstone yellow in the FS section...Im starting to think again...oh no say it aint so! |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Getting a furnace installed in the garage next week, already tired of the crappy little heater I'm using, after about an hour, the air quality is pretty bad.
Currently up at the other shop assembling my 70 swb 4x4 that is sold now, in a lot of ways it's bites to sell it, it's a really nice truck but on the other hand it consolidates the projects and adds funds to build the blazer. |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Wow. I go on vacation for a week and you went nuts with the paint. Better choice on the gray. I think the orange would have been too much with the orange body. Glad to see you're makin progress.

When I went out and looked at my other blazer and saw how much frame you actually see, I made the decision right on the spot to go gray. Even gray will be bright under there, almost chickened out and went back to black. Consolidating all the swb parts and making sure it's 100% is this weeks focus but next week after the heat gets installed, it's all blazer time. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Got heat yet? Whatcha doin'
