Decided to skimp on a stand so I dug out this old engine hoist I bought probably 10 years ago and never bought a bottle jack for it to make it work.

First attempt at using a bead roller ever. Only had about 20mins to mess with a panel. I made a ****ty Ohio pineapple. Lol

Not much progress. Worked on making a table for the bead roller. Did a little planning on what to get done next. Got my gas tank back from my buddy who welded it up. Decided to rig up a top plate and add some air pressure to check for leaks. Didn't find any. Ready to install it in the next couple of days.

very nice build btw, back in the 80's i lived in Colorado and a few kids had scrapers!!! if a cop could'nt roll a tennis ball under it from driver side to pass. side you would get a ticket... any idea of issues in ohio? also do the casters on you bead rolling stand have locks? you seem to have a good handle on it...

I know I'll be below legal ride/bumper height but it seems the cops don't really harass old vehicles much. There is a cop (legit city police department, not a security guard lol) who works at my school and he said I should be good, he thinks it's awesome. Lol. We shall see.

Currently the casters don't lock. I was planning on swapping a couple of them out that lock but so far I haven't had an issue with it trying to move. I wish I had more time to keep learning it but I need to just keep working. Planning on doing some quilt pattern on the center of the tranny tunnel and some of the floors

Stranger candy always tastes better! What kind of firewall sections? Like a skin to go over the factory one or a complete replacement? I bought a large enough machine to be able to do things like that once I learn it better.

Got busy today on correcting some previous mistakes. Think I got them sorted. Started on the passenger side floors. Decided to be conservative with the bead roller for these two panels. Plan on doing more on the other parts of the floor.

If I can learn the machine fast enough we could make one while you're in town. The problem currently is I want to practice with the bead roller yet I need to make progress on the truck. Too much to do and not enough time. Lol

I'm getting a new hood hopefully too soon. I have been eyeballing a 61 c50 flat bead for awhile in this abandoned tow lot that's been sitting forever. After a couple years of trying to locate someone I finally got a hold of the owner who is willing to part it out. It's got the Chevy apache hood so once I get it I will have a GMC apache hood, Chevy Apache hood, and the factory 63 hood. Yeah buddy

Cut the **** out of the factory hinges and got them to clear the tires. Going to brace them up more and probably add some gas assist lifts to it to limit the travel and hopefully keep the hood up. Big relief that they fit cause I got $400 estimate from Porterbuilt for their hood hinges + 4 other hood plates since I will have 3 hoods soon (gmc apache, Chevy apache, and factory). I was going to order them but unlike most on this forum, I'm not very impressed with their stuff. Another local member on here spent thousands on their front end and nothing fit. It all looks amazing but all had to be modified to actually work.

Picked up some 8' bedsides, some extra bedside pieces, some smaller stuff, and an aluminum 63 grill for $200. Should have enough lower bedsides to fix the body on my panel truck now. Only 3 weeks till the show I'm trying to make it to. Crunch time.
