Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5
Here's a little progress. The major project I still am in the middle of is the firewall. I think I'm going to do it completely smooth. There are just too many variables with me to do a bead roll in it. So here are the steps I took thus far:
before shot: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2485/...d43dcc0d04.jpg Step one was to remove the top of these supports. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2569/...ba306c954a.jpg Then I cut along this seem and left all the spot welds intact. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2448/...2d2fb3e965.jpg Here is the whole thing out. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2575/...1db6aeb76b.jpg I then proceeded to cut away about 6 inches of the pinch weld at time and welded it back up. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2541/...7dfccc4197.jpg Here is a shot of it completely welded up. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3478/...d353e90b5e.jpg In order to mate up a new piece of sheet metal, I bent the bottom lip. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2654/...ac75c45023.jpg This is how I did it. Yes, those are from wonderful Harbor Freight! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3508/...8166062df8.jpg |
Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5
Three more pics of the hardlines. I am now completely finished with those. This pics shows the two tanks connected and the check valve.

Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5
Here are two pics of the rear brakes mocked up. These are Summit brand kit that is actually SSBC. They are for an impala which has a 5x5 bolt pattern. I just had to make a new caliper bracket and they worked perfectly.

I vote single or smooth. I also think that if you are to do one on the driver side it should be reciprocated on the passenger side. |

When I bought it, I got it on sale for $380. At the current price, I might spring for a Wilwood kit?? |

Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5
I wish i had just done that for the firewall... nice work so far!

Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5
Got the firewall pretty much done. Have to plug some holes and deal with the floor supports, but other than that, its done.
I did this in two sections just so it would be easier to work with. Here is the driver side tacked in place. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3492/...f014c959_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2695/...c826fa10_o.jpg Here it is primed. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3534/...6cddd512_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2436/...9b3d4129_o.jpg Here here it is complete. It looks a little plain-jain, but once everything is together and the motor is in, I think it will look nice. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2480/...af61e464_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2689/...c3e9bb45_b.jpg Here is one last random picture of a patch panel I made. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3242/...ddc0b734d4.jpg |
