Nice build, I enjoyed going through it. I like the seat idea. I have thoughts of something similar but with a full bench. I'd like to have "buckets" with spots for a submarine harness point for the passenger and driver and a normal spot in the center. For putting my son's car seat.

Thank you for the comment. Glad you enjoyed. I probably would have gone with a full bench, but this seat was free. The 88-94 seat design provides a lot more room in these cabs. Always liked a bench in a truck. My wife is under 5' so she can adjust forward on the passenger side with the 60/40.

Picked up the seat today. I am almost never fully satisfied with results of work I farm out, regardless of the cost. Very happy with the results. Feels nice but I sit a bit higher than wanted now, I fully expected this with the foam work. Will shorten the seat mount brackets about 1"-1.5" My modified inner bracket for the 60 side needs an additional 1" chop. I sat them in the truck to see how they look. What do you think?

Seats turned out good. I definitely understand the not being satisfied with farmed out work.

Thank you. Maybe my expectations are to high? IMO, If I am paying someone for something they do for a living. They should do better than I can do myself. I always pushed myself to be the best I could be in my career.

Thanks! Objective I am trying to accomplish with many of the modifications.

As I need to modify all four seat brackets now. I am reconsidering a custom frame that bolts to stock mounting points. Going to look at seat risers again and make a decision on which way to go.

You outdid yourself on these

Thanks, they are starting to grow on me ;) Steve Budy and his daughter did all the hard work. I provided the seat, material and he worked with me to achieve my vision. Maybe a slight variation of the original vision. I wanted a somewhat unique seat for the project that was comfortable, provided a bit more room and as said "looks like it belongs" I am very satisfied with the results.

I don't think so. Sounds like you're in my boat. I have found very few people in my life who strive for the quality, attention to detail I can see.

Built a frame for the seats a couple weeks ago. Pushed through the heat and fabricated the mounts today. Want to add some gussets to the feet for more strength. Maybe get to that and cutting seat risers down this weekend.

Have been working on the seats when I can. The three most difficult risers are modified. Inner on the 60 side need chopped still. I took over 4" out of the risers to get the drop I wanted. Had to order hardware online to complete the install. No one here in California seems to have more than a couple of bolts in stock. Pretty sure I know who to thank for this ridiculousness.

Wow! over 100,000 views now. Thanks to all for the interest in my project. It has been really hot here, 114 degrees +. Would love to see some more comments. To hot for me to get any work done. My work place is at least 10 degrees lower and is somewhat tolerable. Supposed to be cooling down by end of week and may get on finishing the seats.

What steel is it that you used? I need to make a seat riser for my seats out of a Mercedes R350.

Just used a mild steel 1" square tube I picked up at Ace Hardware. Did not see a need to go way overkill. Only needs to support 3 people and the seats. Seat belts are are floor mounted in the truck. If I was installing seats with integrated belts a thicker wall tube would have been ordered and used. Should finish up all mounts tomorrow.

Nice. Thanks
My rear seat brackets are way overkill at 3/8 inch thick. Those are integrated belt seats from the third row of a cadi/suburban. I will likely go with 1/4 inch for the front brackets.

Should have mentioned I used 1/4" steel for the feet. The gussets and box plates on the mounts are 3/16". Fully finished finished the seat mounting today, last riser and feet of frame boxed in. It is ready to bolt into truck as the original bench went in. Will most likely do a beauty cover for the sides now.
