Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
Ok. So i have spent the last few weekends just tinkering around. I didnt really have a welding cart. I just had this little dinky thing that the bottle liked to fall over all the time.
I picked up a cart for free from work. I took the rack that my welder was on, removed the wheels and welded that to the underside of the cart. Added some bracing for the bottle and now im set. Place for my plasma and welder. I also can put all my welding/grinding tools in one place so i dont have to walk all over looking for the right tool... I added a few hooks to have a place to hang the cords and what not... Cost was a few bucks. Pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00626.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00627.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00628.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00629.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00631.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00632.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00633.jpg |
Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
The last time i worked on my truck i was getting ready to install my hood.. My hood hinges were so crappy i needed to blast them. I decided i wanted a cabinet to do that. I didnt want to spend over 40 bucks for a cabinet and i know the 99 dollar harbor freight ones arent very big.
So, i proceeded to find a 55 gallon barell and do some work. I cut out to arm holes and used cut a 6 inch muffler apart and welded them into the holes. I then attached the gloves to the end. Bought some angle iron and added a window. Cut open one end for the door. And on the other side there is one fitting that i used off a sink that my vacuum goes in and the other hole my blast hose goes through.. Its pretty friggin ugly but works GREAT..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC00634.jpg Now that the hinges are done sandblasting i can put soem paint on them and mount the hood... Then. once thats done im going to get some of the wiring done so i can drive this thing around the block.. Then its back in for paint.. |
Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
Got some progress. Painted my hinges for my hood. Once i get the hood mounted on, im going to run a few wires so i can drive this beast around the neighborhood. ahahah...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC05200.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC05201.jpg And a silly question. Where does this go and what is this??? I had it blasted so i painted it figuring i would need it. LOL. It has been awhile since i took this thing apart.. Cant ya tell. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC05202.jpg |

Not much on pics but you get the picture. Can you use everready metal glaze in 45 degree temps??? I wont be painting over it until summer if that matters... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC05207.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/DSC05208.jpg |
Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
At least your getting something done. If I had to wait for 45* temps, it would be next April. My heater LP conversion finally came in, so I might have heat in the garage by xmas.

Just some pics. This is of the relays for the front headlights. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ld/relayss.jpg Uhh, big ass 6 month old puppy. Got her she was 7lbs. She is now like 400 pounds. ahaha http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ild/reign2.jpg This is what i originally had planned, i just didnt like that many wires on that one junction so i changed it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../firstwire.jpg Changed it to this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ewjunction.jpg Slow burn fuse setup. After taking apart the wiring, this is what i managed to remove. Bunch of junk. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...build/mess.jpg I need to run a few new wires so i went to napa and got some new plug ends. this is one installed, boring i know. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/newclip2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/newclip3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ld/newclip.jpg I finished the front headlight harness.. Im running 4 bulbs up front. I wired it to 4 brights, and 4 low beams. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...newharness.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/harness2.jpg Thats about it for now. once im wired and running and the temperature picks back up i will finish the body work. I dont have any more money for the windows or seats so i dont really know what im going to do once i have it painted. ahaha I have the paint and everything already.. Just doing what doesnt cost me much money now.. I will keep you updated with a video once the air is setup and its running again with the key. |
Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
