Re: Project NOT4SLE

I wanted to add a muffler to the truck as I chopped the exhaust off when I lowered it.
Got a flowmaster from a buddy he had laying around and got her fabbed up. It is fabbed in a way that you would be scared to know who did it. LOL but it will work till I finalize building a small block, big block, LS motor for the truck. So many freaking ideas, and so little money to fund them all. HAHAHAHA

not to mention I wanted to double check nuts and bolts

For ease of not doing an LS install it would be obvious to swap in a 383 stroker as it will drop right in with minimal changes. the big block will take a little more, and an LS motor even more.

So what do you think about this small block idea??? :metal:

I love the twin turbo idea, I've been kicking that idea around for awhile now. My money has to get other things done on the truck first. But someday I hope to hang a couple hair dryers like that. :metal:

If i had a twin turbo SBC in my garage, it would not take long to install.

Re: Project NOT4SLE

Got home from work today, through the truck up on jackstands and decided to get to work on getting the front end done.
I think cleaning and refurbishing the parts not being replaced will take longer then anything else. A lot of dirt, rock, concrete type stuff on it all over. LOL

I am hoping to be done by Friday.

:lol::lol::mm:

I think just getting all the caked on mud stuff off will be a world of difference, not to mention getting new steering components

Right on! Are you planning on shooting any paint on the frame after things are cleaned up or is that in the future.

Love the build man, like the fact that you plan on it being a daily driver. Keep rockin, and can't wait to see the front suspension done.

Re: Project NOT4SLE

A few quick pictures of the res of the truck. Finished taking it all apart. Started oven cleaning and pressure washing all the control arms and I found out I need a bead blaster lol

The drivers side upper ball joint was still riveted to the control arm so it was an original.

I think he has to keep it together to drive it.

At least the control arms can be taken somewhere and blasted easy enough.

I actually am installing 67 fenders, 67 grill and a cowl hood in about a month or two. Once my rims and tires are on it. So It will be coming apart for that install and Ill finish the frame then.

Looking good! Dont you love all the work we have to do to just prep something to go back together! :metal: But I guess thats what gives us the pride and joy of having these trucks and knowing we know every square inch of them. Tell Bonnie to get her cluckin bum off the wheel and help you clean up some. She may be a guest but nothing comes free now adays.

Dude drop me a line if you work that susp on the weekend. I'm on the m-f grind currently but planning to start my SB this spring and could use a refresher...still want to check out that rear susp too. Have you found any good chrome platers in town?

WOW!

I just read your entire build thread and it's really taken shape!

Keep up the good work!
