Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Cool project. I love the crew cabs. I am considering doing one in the future. You flipped the axle, Are you planning on c notching the frame? I ask because I am going to flip my axle, but don't want to notch the frame unless I have to.
Your dash and console have turned out very nice. It looks perfect in that truck. |

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Well, any progress is good progress I guess. Picked up a heavy duty reciever hitch the other day and decided to swap out the rear member/hitch I had previously installed already, and now I think I have room for my blazer tank as well. Hitch is welded up, and placed in rough position, now to fab up some brackets for the tank straps and install the tank.
Doors are blocked out, box is back sitting in place AGAIN for the 100th time. Had changed my mind once again about wheels and was going to swap back to a dually....but after all my research and talking with a few companies....F that! 5G just to run semi wheels is a bit ridiculous to me...but, regardless just can't justify them on this budget. So back to smoothies again....rear diff narrow going to begin soon as well. Just need to get my rear wheels home first. |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
I thought I was sub'd to this thread, I guess not! Anyways, I'm really digging your truck! Can't wait to see it all painted up and put together,

Donor tank is in, hitch is in, just have to run fuel lines then I can remove my saddle tank. Also figured out a set of factory used shocks to use on the back.....Used a set off the rear of a 7 passenger Toyota Sienna of all things. Just had to drill out the 1/2" mounting holes to 9/16 in the shocks and bam....good to go.
Though with the tank relocation also comes the relocation of the passenger inboard shock mounts. Pie cut and adjusted the factory upper mount, then mounted it to the frame parallel from the drivers side. Will see how it works. |

What's the latest with this one?

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Not a pile this summer, been busy picking up old cars and dragging them home, selling them to make some extra cash to attempt to build a shop in the spring and raise some project $$$.
That being said I've hauled home a 59 2dr ht, 60 convertible, 65SS, 65 2dr, 66ss coupe, 66ss convertible impala's, an arctic cat (71) mini bike, 26 Chevy rat in a box (lol) truck, and another 89 crew cab 4x4 Chevy. Bought myself a flat deck trailer, redid it all and added a 9500lb winch, a 1969 ski doo Olympic, and a whack of impala and Chevelle parts including 12 bolt rears etc. Just sold the 59 impala on eBay and it went to Kansas City this morning. 60 vert might be going the same direction in a few weeks. If you want some pics of all my summer finds for the heck of it....look up "Salem's Lot" on Facebook and look for an orange colored avatar. Some sweet finds this year...been a good stretch. So no....not a lot accomplished on the CCSB 2wd project. Hahahahaa |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Can someone post the name of the company that makes those steelie wheels?

I'm tossing around the idea of changing back to a dually, and doing a set of 22" alcoa mega hole wheels. Just not sure what is involved yet, haven't had any time this summer to research it. I picked up another 4x4 crew so don't need two SRW crews....what's the point....hahaha. Plus picked up a short box 2wd fleet for parts, a K5 4x4 again, and still have my K5 2wd that has yet to seal its fate. Any good links that you know are "good builds" to base my semi wheel swap research from to save a guy some time? Should be able to get on it soon for a solid while......winter is setting in now. Oh....and I guess got a singel shift rod NV3500 for her as well. She's not going to do any crazy hauling, just a flat deck car hauler with my 65 SS impala in tow, or possibly my 28' camper. Should be perfectly fine I think as long as I don't try racing with a load on. |

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps335a057e.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps458769d1.jpg Not a pile of progress this summer....been busy flipping cars to raise money for my own projects. Also picked up another CC 4x4..this one is going nowhere! Been searching for one since I sold my last one....never again. Working on dually wheel dilema right now, and trying to find the information needed to be sure I know what has to change once again to install either semi wheel conversion, or direct bolt on 20's. Frustrating.... |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Have you tried duallyscene.com? I'm not a member there but I knew a guy that liked lowered Chevy duallies that was on that site and liked it.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
checked out a few builds over there, but not much action going on over there.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Nice to see you working back on the truck! The dually would be cool. Might cost more for wheels and adapters and such though.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Duallyscene = slo-mo.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Do you want to run 6 alum wheels or just the 4 outer wheels?

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
I can't find your Facebook page...

I want to use all 6 the same....not a fan of just "making things work" my OCD goes into overdrive hahahaha
The name your looking for now is "The Rot Shop" on Facebook. Ended up changing the name out. On another note, decided to start back getting some stuff done on the truck again. Began working on the tailight fuel tank filler. |
