OK, it has been a while since I have posted in the forums. I have been lurking and checking out the word on the street as to what folks are building.

I am happy to announce that I just purchased another C10.

I am still in Hawaii and the truck is coming from Cali... I will start a build thread next month when it gets here. I can't wait to get back to what I love. The old school hot rod gig wasn't good for my soul. I thought it was what I wanted but, I found myself dreaming about another C10!

Since selling my 67, she was upgraded to a Porterbuilt setup with an accuair mgmt system. Obviously in very good hands.... I will try and get more pics from the new owner.

Stand by for my new build thread in January. Cant wait!

Im curious whats it like in Hawaii as far as the rust situation on cars and trucks? Is it hard to keep under control?

We go to Maui every year for our vacation and have been seriously considering moving there when we retire. Just wondering how vehicles hold up in the salt air.

Well, it is Hawaii... and an island in the middle of the Pacific ocean so, yes, rust happens. You just have to stay on top of it. That was the main reason I got a truck from Cali this time. I'd rather start with a rust free platform than spend half of my budget on paint and body work.

As for moving to Maui.. its the EXTREMELY expensive to live there, especially if you are retired. I retired in Oahu (Honolulu) and moved to the Big Island because it is the cheapest island to live on, mainly because housing/land prices are significantly cheaper here. Maui though.... good luck.
