Bill I'm glad you got a shot of me running the other 67 pickup! You should have come by my pit we had tons of food and drink! Email me those pics full size if you don't mind. revillot@elmore.rr.com

Big Jim
Its a pig on the motor with the big heads! I went 6.40's last year! I am picking up much more with the spray(almost a full second on a 250 shot). I can't wait to try more spray and the short tires!

here's a video of the the race above! fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it the other truck staged and the truck rolled back just enough to redlight! http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p...cture032-1.flv

Big Jim this turd also has a 4.30 gear with a 33 inch tall tire!

I almost bought the farm! I went to the track last night and was setup for a 1/4 mile nitrous pass! When I left the starting line the track locator bracket broke off the rearend housing! Thank goodness it did not break at 140 plus! I have a cheesy little video of it but it was dark and far away!

This is what we had to do to get it back to the trailer. You can see the track locator behind the battery! I had an old friend bring his portable welding unit to the track and fix it there! We were back to making passes in about an hour! Special thanks to Mike Honeycutt!

Sold car never got the chance to use them. Paid $2100.00

djracer 11-04-2007 10:16 PM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

you would have lug pattern isuues for sure and would probably have to have the rearend narrowed and the bed tubbed

drbyrdman 11-05-2007 09:46 AM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

I fitted them last nite. To wide. My truck is tubbed and has a narrowed 9" under it. 21.5 stick out around 2" to much. Dam it did look good.

djracer 11-05-2007 10:02 AM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

you may want to dis mount a tire ans see if the wheel fits under the bed you can get a smaller tire! the hoosiers look real good!

ok. wow. my eyes hurt. i just spent like 2 hours reading this hole topic. great build. love the truck. i have a couple questions for dj racer. do you still have the crank trigger for sell and what kinda tire did you ever decide to stick with? that thing looks wicked tuckin the slicks the way it does

djracer 01-30-2008 09:49 PM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

Sorry for the long thread! I don't have the crank trigger anymore.

As for tires I want to eventually have two sets of rear wheels. One with 33 x 10.5w and one with 29.5 x 10.5. The main reason for running these sizes is I can buy take off's with 4 to 10 runs for around a hundred dollars a set! I actually want to try some dot tires also. We have some classes in this area that limit you on a slick but will let you run a larger dot tire! I like the Hoosiers a little better than the Micky Thompsons in a slick.

Couch 01-31-2008 12:30 AM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

werd hoosiers all the way. thats what im running right now.28 x 10s wi8th 4.10's, but im also a sbc. it'll be the first time at the track this weekend if it doesnt rain. i wish we had available takeoffs around here.

djracer 01-31-2008 12:54 AM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

Good luck at the track. Take offs are cheap but you are a little limited in size choices!

That's it so far but I haven't made a full quarter mile pass with the spray. Most racing around here is 1/8th mile! I mostly run the 6.00 class. Last year at super chevy I time trialed with the dot cars and forgot to put enough time in the timer.(the time in my sig with 6 seconds of spray) The next time I tried for a full quarter mile shot the track locater broke at the hit of the transbrake. I lifted and didn't hurt anything. I had a friend come weld it back on at the track but on test and tune night the track goes to crap from the street cars the later the night gets. The truck has gone 5.32 in the eighth when the previous owner had the truck with 512ci and 2 stages of nitrous. I wanted to try to get in the 8's last year but never got to make it happen. I have a fogger and I would like to try the 468 with two stages since I can't afford what I really want which is a 565! I really like your truck and have tried to get up with you in the past. I wonder how fast my truck would be with your motor! I'm at 3200 pounds with me in it! I'm gonna try to pick it up some this year. I think one of the first thinks I'll do is plumb the fogger and send my carb to patrick at pro systems! I also never really had the right tire for the gear. I have been running 33x10.5w's and I tried some 29.5 true 10.5's and went almost as fast but had tire shake! I'd love to see your truck in action! If you come east to race let me know! You should do a write up on your truck in the racing section. I think you have the fastest truck on the board(for now);)

Thanks DJ . I dont get east much more than Memphis . We did go to Reynolds Ga last Oct . Oh your truck would friggin fly with my motor in it . Im sure it would go 8.50's

For those who follow this thread. I ran my best pass ever and it was filmed for the speed channel tv show Pass Time! Times are updated in my sig. The show should air in late June!
