Funny story..
I asked Jason or Jason65...a engine question while I was visiting the Oklahoma crowd.

Question was why I was not getting equal amount of exhaust pressure coming out. Jason listened to the motor and gave me some suggestions to try.

Once I returned home and finished up some ranch chores and was just about to tackle this issue Jason sends me a PM.
He wanted me to look and see if I had exhaust tuners at the base of the exhaust manifolds. Once he explained what they were I looked and told him no I didn't see anything.

Well being the bone head that I am I only looked on the driver's side.

I had some time last night to work on the truck a little and desided to look on the other side and duh there was this tuner assembly.

My neighbor came by and said they used these to shut off and use the heat to warm up the motor then they would open them.

Once I remove this I hope it helps out a couple of other problems.

like cab gets warm...
the over heating issues...
And I hope it cures why after you drive the truck you have to wait till it cools down to crank it back up...

You guys probably already know this but it's new to me so I thought I would share....This is why this site is so cool...I will update later.

Thanks Jason,,I owe you some bottled water.

:metal: Good catch, David. Had the same issue on the 65' Chevelle rebuild.

Took both of those things (which I guess is really important if you live in up-state New York and you're trying to get to work in January) and threw them as far as I could.

Mac. :chevy:

Good call Jason. :metal: Another tip is put a cross over pipe before the mufflers will give a little more HP, and Torque.

Took the old tailgate off and swapped out the hook eyes and installed them on the one I got from Morton (283man).

My oldest has started doing some air-brushing and wanted to learn how to tape up a large area so I told her to tape up the logo on the tailgate.....:metal:

Nice fitting tailgate thanks Morton.

Well I finally ran out of(just got tired of) the electrical bandaids....
All of the wires running to the back of the truck are toast dry rotted or just broke every 6 inches....
My care package just arrived at work with my new harness..
so we should have lights that stay on for more than a couple of pot holes now.....

That's one way around the politics. We had horses for 11 years. I love them but they are also a big responsibility. It's great the kids are into them.
