Thanks. The top of the drip rail that runs from side to side on the fire wall. How straight should that be? It has a natural frontward slope to it. As of right now it's a thin coat of filler to level it off. Should I be making that lip flat with no forward slope?

Working on a slight detour here.... Just doing research on a couple of diff options for a brake upgrade. Got a call Saturday and my motor for the Burb is done!!! Woohoo. He also told me my Nova motor will be done tomorrow. I guess I better get busy here I'm running out of room in the corners of the shop. I guess these are good problems to have.

On our bolt in ifs for the c-10 trucks.

1.We have one that uses a mustang II spindals

2.We have one that uses a c-10 spindal

On Juans set up the upper and lower a-arms will have to be changed to our a-arms that have the c-10 ball joints in them

It has been a long time on any updates. My motor and tranny are done and I picked them up today. I'll be painting all the brackets and accessories black. I'm not find of the tranny color so it will prob be black soon. Time to get this project back on track.

Glad to hear business is good! I'm sure it's about to really pick up for you. I know I'm glad to have nicer (consistently) weather rolling around. Things are pretty good here.

Yeah, we actually had a bit of a Winter this year. Not so much last year. We had that ice/snow front that came through in early Feb., which was not very typical for the area. Can't complain too much though, because lots of folks have been hammered with Winter this year.

Black Betty is resting comfortably. Hope I can get my dad going on it again soon. It would be nice to get her on the road this year!

What's up Juan? Saw a Facebook post recently with pics of a recent detail job. Keep up the good work. If I can get it worked out, I might have some detail work for you once the weather warms up. Hope you guys are doing well. Lot of changes for us the past few months.

She's still resting comfortably. Been talking with my dad about getting her back going this Spring hopefully. We just recently moved to TN, & we're about 2.5 hours from my hometown. My goal is to get it back on the road now that I'm closer & able to help. Dad was diagnosed with cancer in Oct. though, so we're trying to get him on the road to recovery right now. Long road ahead still, but things are looking up. I'll get with you when I'm ready to give my Tahoe some attention.

Looking forward to some updates on the Burb!

Re: 68 Burb... here we go!!

Well I started back up on the Burb about a month ago. It's time to make some headway on it. I sent it to a local shop to have some things changed up on the rear. I didn't like the way I did a couple of things and so I had them change it up a bit. Engine, trans, and all susp is done. I need to paint my engine brackets and install them. This weekend I worked in installimg my slosh Tubz inner fenders. The install went well. I've decided to install them inside the mounting flange on the fenders so that took a little bit more time and finessing. Over all I am quite pleased with the out come. Next I need to do my brake lines and fuel lines. I hope to be building the rear floor and wheel tubs in a few weeks.... Let's see how that goes. Any ways here are a few pics.

I also did my steering linkage from the rack to the column. That took some figuring and lots of trial and error since I only wanted to 2 joints, one at the rack and one off of the column.

Re: 68 Burb... here we go!!

I purchased a hot rods wire EZ wire kit a while back. I'm not sure if I'm going to use it or not. I might order the American auto wire kit to make it a little easier. I'll also find out if I'm going to need a fuel cell or not here soon when I install the one I have and see how close it is.
Here is my wish list on this round for the truck.
-fuel cell
-wilwood 13 inch 6 piston kit
-AAW wire kit
-and I'd love to get an engine pully system in matte black.

Re: 68 Burb... here we go!!

Well sometimes I find myself busy with work and family so if I can save time by spending a little that's a lesson I'm learning.

Well I wanted to shave the humps off of the fenders so that it would look a little cleaner with the Tubz installed. They have been primed and sealed ready for paint this week.
I started working in my hood. I knew I had some rust behind that trim so today was the day I tackled it. I have a lot of grinding and finish work on that lip. What a PITA to weld on. On the lowest setting and it still sucked. Oh well. Lol

Are the new wheels for the Burb? We need some new pics. Like you I've put my build on the back burner but just knocked the dust off and started back. The only thing now is I'm going backwards, fame off time now. :metal:

I just read the entire thread also. Nice build!

I was wondering if you had any factory parts left over from the 396 that you ended up not using and wanted to get rid of?

PM me if you'd like.
