Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Just go look or cubbers build thread... We didnt get it put in today but we did get his inline 6 removed, a lot of cleaning done, and then engine is near ready....
I also managed to get home shine a spot light on my truck and remove the trim and do a little sanding on the back of the cab.... I plan to get some sand paper tomorrow for my orbital because hand sanding bondo sucks!! lol |
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Alright got to go check it out, and honestly I think hand sanding sucks even doing it on regular paint an electric sander is waaaay better!! That's awesome you were able to sand the back of the cab, sounds like a nice productive day today!

So I went hard to work starting at 7am...I would not let scatter showers detour me no matter what...I made a canopy of sorts for any time it started raining and I went to work....
I cleaned and painted the frame I sanded, cleaned, and painted the back of the cab and front of the bed with a roller (3 Coats Blitz Black) and and and I also installed Thrush Glass Packs.... **Only thing that sucked is I ran out of Flux wire...>Then used aluminum i accidentally bought so they had some very small leaks...I put exhaust sealer on it and the leaks seem to be gone... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-aQ...e_gdata_player It was a long as day |

Broke/cut off rusted on hangers that I couldnt reuse and put some new ones on
Did a little more welding on the glass pack but can get 1 little leak gone...ERG!!! I also installed my fuel sending unit which at first sent the gas gauge way past the full mark but then i noticed the ground was real loose on the top of the sending unit itself...So i tightened that up and it went to the normal full location... |
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
looks good! you're prob about ready to put the bed back on soon huh?
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
I will be once I get my new vent cap for the sending unit i think....Gotta think it through LOL Trying to do anything that would suck to do with the bed on

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
How are you applying the blitz black? Gun?
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
The plan is to apply it by gun.... The inner doors and such were done with rattle cans and the back of the cab and front of bed by foam roller
