What size tires are you running front and rear? Also what brand and how wide is the white wall? Looks sick by the way!

I second what 54 says... like the wheel tire set up.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

I've been looking to get some wide white walls and kinda been stressing out about what to get, are you guys running all the same size tires? I wanted to go with a wider tire out back but everything I'm seeing in a radial will also have a taller white wall, mayn't I'm wrong but I think it might look kinda stupid with a 3" or 3 1/8" white wall in the back and a 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" up front, but then again maybe it's not that noticeable... Let me know what you guys are running, thanks! Steve

Looking good 4Dseven. Do you have any pics
Of your 4 link setup? Also where did you get your 700r4 tranny. I've got a 383 also looking for a 700r4 to go with it.

4DSeven...Whos MII Did You Use? Whats Your 8.8 Out Of?

4DSEVEN 05-29-2014 09:56 PM

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

I have pics of the four link but am out of town at the moment, I can dig them up. The 700r4 I got from an old suburban that got in to a wreck after 1 month of having a new engine and tranny. Ended up picking it up for $100.

The MII was from a donor that we rebuilt. The 8.8 was out of an Explorer.

The build has taken 5 years.

Hallux 05-29-2014 10:09 PM

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

Nice man. I'm using an 8.8 out of a Lincoln. Did you use a pan hard bar or a Watts type link or...?

4DSeven... The Explorer 8.8 Has A Small Offset Pig..Did You Shorten One Axle Or Just Weld It Up Offset? I Used That Rear In A 31 I Built. I Had A Vibration From The Driveshaft Being Off Just A Bit.

If I recall we swapped the axles out at the time. Went to a Chevy bolt pattern too. Possibly an s10? I'd have to check with my buddy at the shop as we had so many changes along the way.

Just primered my Dad's '54 today, figured you guys might dig it. MII up front with dropped spindles and cut coils, 4-linked and bagged 80's Caprice rear-end out back. 305 roller motor with a 2004R backing it up.

bob_o your dad's truck looks great! Quick question... What is keeping the front from laying out as low as the rear? Is it bagged? Just curious,I'm thinking about using a mustang II in my future project.

Pops has pretty cool ideas from time to time, haha. When he told me hewanted to run '50 Ford tail lights I told him to keep any "foreign" parts off his truck! Ha!

Haha, no worries man! He had the front of his '64 Olds 88 bagged and he hated it, so he decided on a static drop for the front of this truck. He prefers to have the nose of his rides to be bit higher in the front, '60s style :)

I don't have any pics of the rear set up, but I'll try and get to my Dad's house to snap a few in the next couple of days. Wheels are stock 15 x 7" 5x5" GM steelies off of an 80's Caprice cop car. Not sure what the back spacing is. I know he's running adapters on the front because the track on a Mustang II clip is so narrow, plus the rotors are 5 x 4.75" bp and he wanted to run the same wheels at all four corners.
