Sorry VDOG didn't mean it as a joke about the outside,
I really want to see that engine replacement you did in your truck and see and hear it run!
I don't know if anyone wants to come out to the IE, but I can try to find a place off the 10 fwy or 210 fwy in Ontario/Upland area.

Dano:

I was joking with you. Im not sensitive, were all in the same boat with our projects. Im game for the IE. Im sure I will be up and running strong by then. We have members that have drove out of their way to our meets, so its only fair that we go to other locations. But if nobody else wants to host, and you guys just have to have me set it up (LOL) let me know. I can think of something.

Mr Kabwe:

No I did not make it this time. Saturday I knew my truck was not going to be ready, but still had plans to go. After making a few runs and someone wanting to come by and look at my father in laws old Jag that were selling, that went my day. I know no excuse.

The Temecula Rod Run in October?
October 8th - Friday night cruise 5:00pm to 8:00pm
October 9th - Saturday all day show and shine 8:00am to 4:00pm

35.00 to register + 2 cans of food for the local food pantry.
(All registered cars/trucks get a T-shirt as well)

I want to try and do this, and it would be cool to see a bunch of us there with our trucks!

I like the August date myself. You can pick the place, just have to make sure theres enough parking. You know Dano, my old 283 would fit nice in that old chevy luv truck you have. LOL

Dano, im ready for you to set a date. Now that im up and running. Question, since some of our group has more than one project, does it matter if they drive their other project? (car, truck outer than our model, Gullwing Benz, Vanquish) In case they want to come to the meet but wont because there truck is not driveable or finish?

Everyone I talk to, says you have to get there at 5am. For me its not that serious. I mention that I would get there around 9am, but I was told thats too late. Thus I have not been.

You aren't missing anything...except overpriced beer, parking, and parts that everyone selling thinks are made of gold. I stopped going several yrs. ago.

WOW!! I think that answers my question. LOL
Honestly, when I do go to swapmeets, Long Beach in fact. I tend to look for a specific item, find it or dont, then leave. But even at LB, the prices are ridiculous on some items, or people dont know what they are talking about.

Kabwe, I will go with you oneday to Pomona. Unless you leave at 5am. LOL

Re: SoCal checkin' in

hahaha, yeah the beer is $8.00, and yeah we usually get there at 5:30am. no biggie its a lot cooler early so we like that part of it. There are some good deals to be had there just know what you are looking for and ignore the "know it alls" with the "one off" super custom edelbrock intake(dime a doze there) that they say is worth $10.00 under full retail for a new one.
We showed up with a wagon and $200.00 and came home with lots of good deals...in our eyes at least.

Hey my fello Californians! I can't believe I'm just now finding this section of the forum.

Anyways...I'm Jimmy. Located in Buena Park, CA (Orange County). I have a shop out here which does all types of metal fabrication, and street rod, hot rod, race car, show car building.

I myself own a 1963 Chevy c10 LWB fleetside which is my shop truck. I just recently picked it up, so I'm doing work on it as I work in between jobs. I've gotten a good amount of work done on it so far, but a long way to go to get it to where I want it. Here is a link to the thread for my truck.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=412905

I became a member on this awesome forum because we started a full custom, frame off build on a 1967 chevy c10 for a bike builder. Project has been on hold for a little while, but where going to get back on it this week. Here is the link to the build.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=385028

Also, I have a 86 suburban which I'm parting out, and alot of the parts left are larger pieces, so I'd like to sell them to someone locally, so if anyone is interested, here is the link to that. I also have a ton of SBC/BBC, performance, and air suspension parts for sale which I'm just trying to clear off my shelves at my shop, so i'll post that link as well.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=416959

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=408133

I'm happy to be part of this forum, and have met some great people already. I'm thinking about holding a meet at my shops parking lot in the next month or so, that way I can meet some more members. If anyone would be interested in doing that, let me know. I have a bbq grill here too :ito:

Welcome to the So Cal Page. A meet at a shop, all you have to do is say when. LOL

A few of us were thinking on a date for the next one. We have a few people with truck and car projects, so just say when.
Where does the line start for that metal work?

Well, I'm definately down to have a meet at my shop. I'm pretty centrally located right off of beach blvd. in between the 5 freeway and the 91. I guess lets try to get a list together of everyone who is interested in coming, and see what everyone's schedule looks like. I'm pretty much open to whenever since I practically live at my shop, lol!

What do you all think about a car meet / swapmeet? If enough people have parts to sell/trade. My shop is also a 1/2 mile from beach blvd. Maybe a Cruise afterwards?

I was thinking maybe sometime mid next month, before SEMA starts.

Just wanted to see if anyone was registered or is going to be driving out to the cruising for a cure show this Saturday??? Me and a friend of mine are showing at this event this Saturday, and we will be leaving Saturday morning from my shop in Buena Park. If anyone else is attending, and would like to cruise out there with us, let me know.

Hope to meet some of you there.
