Re: My Facetruck thread.
Six is a good size family these days. We raised three kids. It was one every two years with the first four, me being third. My next sister came in four years. We had the odd years covered from '51 to '61 except '59. Then came a sister in '68 and brother in '70. Sure covers a lot of years. About a generation!

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Four boys in my family which I thought was three too many =)
My honeys family had seven kids. Dairy family all in a very small house with a single bathroom (one sink in there), the kitchen was also very small. Four girls, three boys ... the math works haha. Anyway we watch a lot of HGTV and she is very amused at the families that need more room!!! Two kids, mom and dad in a 2800 sq ft house. OMG how will they survive! Of course they werent allowed to just hang out in the house most of the time. Everyone outside! Because they lived in a valley there was very poor TV reception plus the TV was turned off at 8PM. Study, read, or play a card game. Im amazed she even lived through her childhood haha. |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Since I was the boy I always got stuck somewhere other than in a bedroom, while the girls got paired up. The one house had a curtain wall to divide off a corner of the living room that was my room for a while. Then it was in the basement. We moved into a huge farmhouse and I finally got a room, but I don't think it was a bedroom. I never felt slighted on anything growing up in a big family. And my dad was a school teacher. Not known for being paid high wages, especially back then

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I've got plenty of childhood stories, but we were happy. Spending the day outside making swings from vines, casing a hoop with a stick with a tobacco can nailed to it,swimming in the creek.
Picking up walnuts for extra money for the family, Good, simple times. |

Nice Larry. How do you like the ride of the Alcan springs? I did a truck last year for a guy and he was upset he spent the money on them. He said his other truck with rough country lift kit rides the same. Maybe it's just him?

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I posted a picture Friday of the SIL and grandson and I going fishing.
When we came in that night, I jumped off the boat onto the dock, misjudged the distance down, and went down like a rock. I pulled a muscle in my leg and cracked a rib. The leg is way better, but this rib is a PIA. |

Just pray that you don't have to cough or sneeze. You'll be seeing stars. I hope it gets better fast. |

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Sorry to hear about the rib. Cracked one a couple few years ago and remember that well! I had a funny joke to tell but I wouldn't want to make you laugh.
The weather. Nice chilly but comfortable days (55-60) this weekend, 70 today. Some rain passed through, light and fast, and now the wind is gusting 40-50 mph. Right around freezing in the morning and only supposed to get to upper 30s. Then snow the next morning and again mid-day. By Saturday it will be sunny and 65*. |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
