Trying to make my billet side markers light up, they come with a reflector

first remove all plastic around the edge, makes prying a lot easier to get apart with out cracking lense and backing plate

thank you Jim for asking
My wife and childeren so far so good are fine My daughter in law is a RNNP she works in the infectious disease dept that was her choice way before all this. We are worried to say the least. We are about 20 miles west of the epicenters county’s. and hunkered down. My wifes Mom passed yesterday from the virus she was in a nursing home 87 its more sad cause we couldn’t see her for the last almost 8 weeks she is at peace now. I hope you and your family are ok and we all get through this.
Jess

first off sorry for your loss, we will keep her in our prayers, secondly thank your daughter for her continued work in that field.

we also have my mother-in-law in a nursing home and are worried, since we can't visit

glad to hear the rest of your family is doing well, but sad times for a lot of us

Re: PO has me PO'd

exhaust on the cheap

went on NAPA's catalog, came up with an assortment of hangers and clamps, had to modify some of the hangers. Then had to drill a rivet, as it was in the exact place where I wanted to mount the hanger, my least favorite thing to do, after about 2 hours of stepping the drill size up and 2 batteries, worked out.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...cf98f08b_c.jpg[url=https://flic.kr/p/2iYuS8X]20200507_085353https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b25cf0c3_c.jpg[url=https://flic.kr/p/2iYuRpn]20200507_085308

took my old 1 1/2" pipes to a shop and used them as a template, nothing fancy, no mandrel bend

turn downs had to be adapted for now, later will have the exhaust bent over axle

moved the truck to the back yard so i could test some systems out, problems with the temp. gauge, fixed by part from NAPA G1852, sent off to a1971 blazer, and he turned it down to 3/8" ,quickly. now the gauge reads as it should(thanks to the guys on the electrical forum) also bought a repair kit from AA #34620

next was the hydro boost, pedal was pulsing, air in the system, just kept bleeding system, by turning lock to lock, and drilled a small vent hole in cap. takes a while to get all the micro bubbles out

now trans doesn't want to shift into gear, maybe an adjustment, also my pan gasket leaks, waiting on a gasket from lube locker

Hope that you recover quickly Jim. Don't over do it until you are completely healed - then go back to giving her hell.

Thanks guys for all the well wishes, feeling stronger every day, made it to the back porch and was able to post up today.

Trans is getting rebuilt as we speak, they said that parts arent as available as you would think, seems everyone just thru out their old trans and now parts arent as available, as once was. so be it with the classic truck and car market

so if you have an old trans dont chuck it, save it

Thanks again all for the well wishes, made me feel much better knowing that their are people in this world that care

Decided to give my brush guard a couple coats of rust prevention

Not sure of color yet, black white or grey. Truck has a 68 front end(white) with grey surrounds

What say yee?

Tynee 10-01-2020 10:32 AM

Re: PO has me PO'd

I think I’d vote for grey. At least do the first coat and mount it. Look at it for a couple days, then finish it if you like it.

Somehow missed your trip to the ICU. Glad you’re back in the shop.

Just for reference, to see how many different part numbers are out there

Thanks Tynee, road to recovery has been slow, my staples are out, but I can't tell how I'm healing on the inside.
I'm 3 months out of surgery, dr. Said it could take 6 months

The only rubberized undercoat I could find is a 3M body schutz no.08864 in black, maybe tinted with white would give me grey, plus I want to give it a texture finish, I'll use a sponge and see if that works
