Thanks, no boat or super modified, but we did haul a 32' enclosed trailer with our gasser in it.

The mirrors are from 1989 - 1991 suburban/blazer. They are electric, so you will need the harness if you do the swap. I'm pretty sure those are the years. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

What size downpipe and exhaust tubing did you guys use for your alls swaps? My truck is a 90 crewcab with a 90 cummins, 47rh and np205. It's almost complete just need an exhaust and 4x4 linkage. Should I downsize the downpipe to a 3"? There's just a little window of space next to the transfercase.

4" would be better. You can oval it a bit to make it fit if needed without ill effects, that was fairly popular on some of the powerstrokes. The oval still flows the same amount of air but fits in some spaces better.

dmaxs have 3.5 from oem so they might be ok for the cummins.

are those 19.5 treadwrights? Looks like you might be able to get by with just a rear set of flares like bushwacker or something along those lines, not full dually set.

245-70r19.5s on p30 wheels.

I will probably use fender flares or build a new low pro utility box.

Here is my 1990 as it sits now. 4" Tough Country with 255/85s and the new running boards and deck installed. Just have to build some custom brackets to mount the bed sections of the boards.

This is my 88 R20 2wd 454tbi/th400 265,xxx miles.

This is day I brought her home
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...90/image-2.jpg

Put new fuel pump in cranked right up after sitting for 5 years. Cleaned her up
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...90/image-3.jpg

I decided since I can't afford paint job right now. Figured I'd plastidip it. Coming out pretty good.
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...90/image-1.jpg

Not bad for 18 bucks lol. 3 cans covered the bedsides an tailgate.

The plasti-dip looks good. How well does it cover areas where the clear coat has peeled and other imperfections?

tcastro0706 01-29-2014 01:23 PM

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

If u look at it real close u can see the outline of the clear coat. But I only did one coat. I think another coat or two will hide the peeling clear coat pretty good.

Was going through some old pictures last night of my military days, and ran across this picture of a few Air Force Crew Cabs. This was on the Alaskan island of Shemya in 1992.

Each one of these had a AM/FM radio..... and no radio station for miles around!

Those look good! Do they rub the corner of the fender or back of the wheel well when you turn?

Yes. I trimmed the rear corner of the wheel arch and there is still some rubbing, occasionally. I need to look into the issue further, but it's not bad. Some hammering and maybe some more light trimming. There is also a little rub on the drag link at full right turn lock. I think I might do new front springs this spring and see if that helps, maybe add a zero rate and fresh body mounts, too.
