Re: My Facetruck thread.
I remember going to the junkyard, eh, "Automotive Dismantler", in the early '70s and seeing a pristine '63 or '64 Nova convertible waiting for the crusher. Heartbreaking, to say the least. And he wasn't parting with it. I suspect that it was going out as "#1 tin", and may not have had a clear title. I've seen that happen.

It's been a long time since I have seen one with a radio, but no heater option. Very nice looking truck.

I don't get all excited about LS swaps. This one belongs to a friend of mine. 6.2, 4L80E. It runs 12.90's and very streetable.

Keep dabbing weld until its proud enough to contact a washer. Weld the washer to the little tower of weld you built on the bolt, then weld a nut to the washer. It's guaranteed to break off before you've extracted the bolt, but after numerous attempts, it'll start to move. I'd expect a starter bolt to be a simpler one if not really far up in. It's clean and rust-free, it's large diameter. I've done this dozens of times, mostly on smaller stuff like LS-engine exhaust manifold bolts. Take your time, keep repeating and eventually you'll extract it. |
