Looking at the headlight upgrade with relays, I've seen mention of running circuit breakers. I like the idea, but I have a question. Should it be the ones that auto reset or ones I have to reset?

American Autowire doesn't say anything about a circuit breaker. That orange fan wire is fused. But you can install a 40 amp circuit breaker like this. I'm doing the same thing right now with the 57 Panel. I found these diagrams from Vintage air.

Sorry I got distracted for a minute. :haha::haha:
I have always used the auto resettable style . Generic style circuit breakers from NAPA. I cannot say any of them have ever tripped after the installation so they must work.. remember to properly size them to the load , oversized fuses is not always better.

My thought is if the fuse pops there is usually a good reason for it. If it keeps trying to reset could it cause more damage?

Thanks for the pic Dennis, it might come in handy. I was asking about the circuit breakers that automatically reset on the headlight circuit.

The headligt upgrades I have read about in the FAQ section shows 30 amp breaker or fuse.

Another project rolled in today. LINK It's a 65 GT Fast Back 4 speed. It has been sitting for 15 years in a shed and they just want to get it running for now.
