I started "derusting" the driver side rocker area in prep for the new sheet metal yesterday. Lots of surprises be hind that "slightly" rusted rocker.

Got my cab floor in finally! Floor fit pretty well, worst area is where I need to cut it out for the high hump so no big deal.

I also restored the license plate holder, and all brackets - then painted with POR 15 top coat. Great paint!

So what steps and tools did you use to get that bumper to a mirror finish?

Well, the outer surface of the bumper was already like new - really only metal polish and some wax on it.. the inner had the start of rust and that is where I really cleaned things up. After the Coke and foil there, I used metal polish and wax as well.

Installed new bumper, front and rear lenses, rebuilt doors with all new rubbers, added armrest, matching ignition and door locks, and new outside door handles. Busy day. Only have pics of bumper. Started getting dark, so I didn't get look real good but I think I may need to adjust my bumper.

I'm in the middle of changing my differential oil and cover (old one was a nice, rusted chrome unit). Draining overnight. Now I can see my gear ratio. Wife just loves that gear oil smell in the garage! Well, not really!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Took my evap. out and cleaned up the box to see what I've got. Apparently when more careless (ha!@) and dropped the engine in 1993, I sprayed along the outer edge of the box when I painted the firewall. Really a good five inches worth on the RH truck side. At any rate, it's a great box otherwise, so I'll try removing the paint. From what I've seen, I prefer not to paint the box. Worst "case" scenario I'll have to. Any suggestions how to remove that paint with no affect on the plastic evap. case is appreciated.

Also appears the A/C-Heater door in the evap. box doesn't want to close all the way. Don't know if that's common, but sure was a lot of dirt in there despite being garaged and little use.

BEAUTIFUL truck CST10

What is the A/C-Heater door and Drain Tube in the Evap. box, and the Air Shut Off Valve Door in the cowl, for $300 Alex.

If using a I phone and you turn your phone long ways. Bottom of phone pointing right with volume buttons pointing down. Use the regular button for pictures and they should be right side up when you upload them.:chevy:
