All that new stuff needs to stay out.:sumo:How do you get anything done in there it looks way to clean. You need to grease it up a little. Don't you ever just lay parts on the floor and spray paint them.:lol: You know like the cop dead body thing.

Dave - that is a picture from a couple years ago taken in the garage.. there is stuff hanging every where from the walls and ceiling now. :ito:
Ya know , Newsprint on the floor when you paint , solves the crime scene problem.
I did a lot of the work on the cross member and tranny swap outside in the driveway!:chevy:

I need some I'm still looking for some punk kid to spray the inside of my garage doors in some cool graffiti. I'm thinking it will really help the resale valve. I'm thinking I supply the paint and 100 bill. I might have to blind fold him.

Dave You need to just hide out in the rail yard and grab any kids who have spray paint and are tagging rail cars.. Some of them are pretty creative!

Some swap meet Chrome I scored . And I bought another set of 6 cylinder power steering brackets I found at the bottom of a box of stuff.
Swap meets are a blast --I love finding treasures!

Had a little time tonight before dark and installed a Sun tach I bought at the swap meet .

Re: Bubba's recycling project

You could have swaped out your dash for a 66 one. Then you could have had a factory tech, that doesn't work with crap. I'm going to sell mine and buy a new 90 degree sweep. Somthing that will work with a new HEI. I've tried to hide and grab but I'm getting old and slow. Did you paint your car?

bubba327 04-19-2011 11:59 PM

Re: Bubba's recycling project

I am planning on replacing the dash and using round gauges someday. These are working for now.
I cannot get it back from daughter long enough to work on it anymore!!
Good thing it has been very reliable so far!
this tach is working just great with the HEI

Nope-I have not painted anything lately

Re: Bubba's recycling project

I just want it long enough to get the Offenhauser intake put on it , But now I have to put new struts on the Yoda first, they are leaking badly and rattling.
I have a cruise on May 7th, I want to enter the 64 so I need it running for that show.

Dave -do you still need a 6-lug rear axle??? I am cleaning up the garage.

:mm: I think I'm just going to leave mine the way it is. It's great for around town and I never drive it on the hiway.

Hey Bubba, chrome looks good! What cruise are you going to? I just got back from 3 weeks of training in Cali. It's very nice to be home, I'm ready to go cruise in the truck!

Hey Ammo- My friend Corey from Momz Garage is hosting The 2nd annual Mothers Day show in Star Idaho (Saturday May 7th, 1-4 PM)
I think there was around 50 cars last year -I am taking the Chevelle and the 64 truck . You should try to come , It is a good afternoon
Here is his website http://www.momzgarage.com/
hit the events tab at the bottom of the page for entry forms and info

Geezer -As a matter of fact I just ordered manifold gaskets and Holley jets and a new power valve on Friday, They should be in on Monday.

I installed the struts on the Yoda last night and got it aligned today.
Daughter can drive it to school next week and I can tear into the 64 again

Taah Dahhh !!!

Offenhauser And Holley 7448 and Mr Gasket 1" spacer.
Changed the power valve to 65 and went to #58 on the jets.

Starts and idles good --Heck even my vacuum came up to 17" at idle .
It will accelerate smoothly and cleanly by hand throttle .

Now I have to fabricate linkage . The old solid linkage went away. I spent the evening creating but It is not working out . I have too much travel with the pedal now. I scrounged the junkyard but the throttle cable I found is not quite right. back to to drawing board.

Geezer#99 what did you do for throttle linkage again?????
Or any body with a four barrel on a offenhauser or clifford..
where are you putting the throttle return spring?????
Help!!

Here's mine.
Made a little bracket for return spring that attaches to 1 valve cover bolt.

Re: Bubba's recycling project

Geezer , I never thought about leaving the existing solid linkage and using a bellcrank..
Too late now, I have already modified the old throttle pedal and no turning back now.. it is gonna have to be a throttle cable. I cut the ears off the 1" spacer and drilled new holes to line up with the adapter. I wish I had left them on now, they would have been handy for the mounts..*&^%$$#!!!!

Dave -I found the picture at post 1471. is that mounting bracket a plate sandwiched under the carb or just mounted on the corner bolt???
I found a universal braided throttle cable that should work, I will get it tomorrow on the way home from work.
Still need a mounting set-up for the cable and maybe a bellcrank for the transmission kickdown.
Wonder if they make a really long transmission kickdown cable..........

Re: Bubba's recycling project

Its just under one nut but its L shaped so it kinda wraps around the edge of the manfold. Holds good:ito: Bought it a auto zone.

Re: Bubba's recycling project

I bought a chrome corner mount bracket but I modified it "just a little" --
maybe I can still make it work...:chevy:

Dave didja like that fancy back half on the truck in post 343??

Re: Bubba's recycling project

Ya thats pretty cool.:metal: Its givin me ideas. I want to make me a death trap. I need a old 66 cab to chop on. I think I bought 2 of those bell cranks and couldn't get them to work.
