Quick update. Got both inner rear tubs made and sorta mocked up for now. Cut the inner chevrolet panel out of a tailgate for the raised bed filler at the back tailgate. Then we made a fuel filler in the same panel. DIESEL FUEL ONLY. Thanks CHIZZLER. Happy 4th everyone.

Re: 1961 Crew Max
Nice are you putting a door over the cap?
|
Re: 1961 Crew Max
No fuel door. It will be hidden behind the tailgate.

Worked on the tailgate area yesterday. Went to my local junk yard and got some hardware from a couple tailgates to get some straps figured out. What we did was cut some 1 1/2" round bar and tapped them for spacers for the the top mounts. We then took the Bracket out of the tailgate that the chain would hold onto in the open position and re-tapped it for the new size that was bigger. Cables were purchased new and measure 21". We cut the flanges down on both sides of the tailgate. Next will be some sorta hidden latch in the tailgate. CHIZZLER

Little update. Had to fix the drivers side tail light panel. Cut a piece out of A donor and made it fit. Also noticed about 16" of bedside was separated at the pinch weld between the top and bottom area. Got my new Ridetech f9100 bags for the rear and looking at what's needed to make them fit. The firestone 9000's just didn't have the lift this truck needs. You can see the difference from the pic. We may consider putting A bridge on the rear end and triangulating the rear. Don't like how much the axle shifts over with the pan hard bar. Here is a pic I found of my truck photoshopped before I got it. Thanks CHISELER.

Thanks everyone for checking in. My work load has been crazy lately. Trying to get away for one day on the weekend is difficult. My business is really getting in the way of building this truck. LOL CHIZZLER.
