Not a problem man. There's a junk yard up in cloverdale off of river road that I have heard good things about. Think his names earny. Or gerny. Not sure odd dude but a good guy. Other than that. Creams in sr next to burgis lumber I have had alot of luck with. And what kind of grill 66gmc? Or chevy. Steel aluminum?

Steal ones are easy to come by. Your local craigslist would probably have tons posted.

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.
The yard your looking for is Gerdes Wrecking . (707) 548-9437
It is in cloverdale. It is also on the interweb. Google Gerdes. There is a map. Gary is easy to deal with, but the yard is pretty picked over. There is at least 1 aluminum grill, with bezels, but banged up. It is way out back. No tailgates seen this week, but you should call. Gary knows what he has. Along the same lines of looking for stuff, I need long bed trim , 1 front fender spear, 67-72 fleetside bumper/brackets (paint ok ), and any 4 or 5" rear springs. A pile of original steering column parts would be nice too. I don't buy stuff from catalogs. Good luck, W |

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.
Well been a little while. But the truck runs great! Still need o bolt bed down instead of using vice grips.... and straighten out the body lines. But mainly I enjoy driving it again. Also needs mufflers. But driver her just about 10 miles today to deliver some goods to a find on the far side if town and back to a market on my way home. Snapped a pic and realized thatthe truck sits a little rear high. I like the look. Little rake. Also painted my shift boot rings. One factory. One not. And put down 3 layers of foam insulation on the floor. To deaden the sound. And holy cow it makes a big difference! !!! Pictures to follow in next post.
