Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Saturday morning during my Bank run, for the Tattoo Studio, I ran across this Beauty of a '64...:uhmk:
http://imageshack.us/a/img833/3659/knp3.jpg Used the flap of bank envelope to drop a note for the owner... Turns out he just bought the truck out of Missouri and is the manager at the Grocery Store where it was parked, we talked for a few minutes and I pointed him to this Awesome board. :metal: That kicked me brain into gear:burnout: and I came up with these handy-dandy cards to carry around...:metal: Next time, no flap left flappin' under a wiper blade... I'll place one of these there and Ride On!!!:truck: http://imageshack.us/a/img5/8629/t7uq.jpg  Now if I could convince life to take a vacation, maybe I could get some truck time in...:waah: I guess one of me moustache hairs decided to hijack me pic of da card!!!:buh: |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
That's really cool! Gotta be worth some Bomp points. You should move the "nice truck - check out this forum" part to the top of the card tho. My first read made me think you were talking about your nice truck. It is a nice truck however and I would want to go check it out! You are a genuine artist Don. So many wish they had half that kind of talent.

:uhmk: Surfing these builds is where I found motivation to take my build to where I have, my original plan was to replace that fender, then put a motor in and drive... didn't quite work out like that, kinda just snowballed! Your build is one I will follow:metal: Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Here's the edited version of the back of the card I worked up, Thanx to Jlsanborn for the editing tip!!!:metal:

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
if you ever get over this way, you will have to meet a very good friend, Cotton Presley, he an inspirational speaker for the salvation army and does lots for people in need. totally religious guy with a great love of life and he is a blessing to me and my wife, plus he has a sweet baby blue 66 c10.
you gotta come up for the next truck gathering... |

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Those cards are a great idea. I recently introduced the forum to a couple of guys at shows I recently went to as well. Pretty cool being able to share the knowledge with other people.....I mean I have learned everything I pretty much know about these trucks here on this board in the last year. Figured I could help out somehow.
Can't wait to see the progress you get done:metal: Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Thanks JMo...
Spotted this beauty on the road and followed him to the Gas station. I introduced myself and handed him a card. He's visited the forum so maybe now, he'll join up and hang out here. He's in his mid 20's and just started a detail business... He says he is eventually build the truck, but is finding it tough to start tearing into it since it's driveable...:metal: He's got a crate 350 bored .040 over and a mild cam (Sounds nice too), with a 700R4 pushing it down the road. During our conversation he mentioned seeing another truck this morning, turns out it was the one I posted about that prompted me into making the cards...:mm: Here's his truck...:chevy: http://imageshack.com/a/img198/5803/xjlh.jpgUploaded with ImageShack.com |
