It's scheduled for this morning. (11th)

Did a quickie insulate & rock job where the furnace will be installed, just picked up two 4x8 sheets of rock & some battens and got em put up in the corner so I won't need to do it later.

Between work, the build & the holidays I'll most likely just burn extra 'pane to keep the heat going, no extra time to finish the insulation/drywall any time soon.

...and you? Did you find the missing barb?

No, but I know it's here somewhere, so thats a start. I'd like to find one in SS or alum. 5/8 barb X 1/2"NPT is a wierd size

Frame's all one color now and so are most of the smaller parts/pieces too.

Landed the shackle flip, springs & mounting brackets so I can slide it under the tub soon, also sorted out the body mount packages and laid em out on the frame.

The rear springs are 2.5" lift w/4" shackles...might just be the final set up, time will tell.

Still need to prime & paint more parts/pieces but it's enough to move on...

Thats lookin' awesome. Question.... At the angle the shackles are sittin'... Is it possible for one side or the other to flip up under stress/flex? I've seen several jeeps flip the front shackle back and up. Thats kind of what I'm talkin' about. Just wondering, looks like something I'd like to do to mine instead of blocks.

Things will change considerably once some weight gets put on the chassis I'm thinking.

Rest up, feel better and work twice as hard next weekend to get back on schedule. ;)

Hoping it saves me drive train aggravation later down the build road...

I'm home today, hoping to get the tub back on the chassis.

Need to ge get a few more grade 8 bolts & such but otherwise, it should go fairly quick.

Getting it back to "movable" is key right now, still need to finish up insulating (correctly) and I need to move the big pig to do that.

You're the man! At this pace you'll be done in a month or two.

I would imagine that the insulation is getting more and more important lately, with they way the weather has been.

Kurt, dumb question time.... do you have the rear shackle flip brackets on the right way?

It may be tough for the negative shackle angle to correct itself, even under weight. I do put the right side bracket on the left side (and vice versa) when I run 56" long rear springs. I also have to use a 6" (or longer) shackle.

How long are your rear springs (not asking anything private here... sort of afraid to ask any man about length :LOL: )

Generally, under weight, I like to see a 10 degree angle. Granted, it's nit picky, as you can flip them anytime but it's generally a pain in the buttooki once the gas tank's in place.

Well...dunno for sure really. :rolleyes:
I checked DIY's web site, looked through the tech section and read the install info and yes, mine are not on the way the tech article set is BUT it's the only way they would fit, tried em both ways and being this is a temp. install, I wasn't super concerned.
I still need to prime/paint the welded nut brackets but I had to mount the springs so I can get the tub on enough to move the thing around.

Once I land the tub, I can mess around more with em.
The axles need to be pulled & painted, probly do it then.
