Just a small update. pretty boring stuff, I welded up some holes someone drilled in the kickpanel, one on the back of the cab, and a few more here and there. I did try out Alans trick welding a nut on the inside of the sheetmetal to fix a threaded hole. works great, thanks

You got really good fabrication skills, are you doing all your own body work also?

Thanks chevy88. Yeah im doing all my own work. I cant afford to pay anyone. lol, I am doing all my own body work also. Im slow at it but just have to take my time and it should turn out good.
Thanks flips, you need a new project, Im off work for a few days, I finally finished stripping the paint off the dash and sanded the kick panels tonight. I took a wire brush to the underside and backside of the dash the best I could. I bought some spray can eastwood rust encapsulater to paint the surface rust under there. Hope tomorrow I can push the truck out and blow it off, wipe it down and paint under the dash. |

nice sunny day today in the mid 50s. I got to push the truck out of the shop and blow all the dust and mess off of it. I wiped down under and behind the dash with wax and grease remover and blew it off again. Used eastwood rust encapsulator to paint over the light surface rust under and behind the dash. Pushed the truck back in the shop and started some bodywork tonight. Still not finished yet but its a start.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I like the work your doing. Once I finish my son's truck, we are going to start working on mine again. Ill have to do some floors and rockers and lower front fenders, but that should be about it on the rust repair.

Hey Guys! Been a while since I posted anything. I have been busy with work and family. I have been tinkering a little on the truck here and there. Got all new brakes, wheel cyl, bearings, seals, and drums done. I mounted the power steering pump and lines. I also fabbed up a top radiator mount. my truck is lowered 3 inch drop springs in the front. My question is what shocks do I need to run? someone said factory shocks will work but I remember someone on here having a part number for a shorter shock from the parts store. thanks!

Hey everyone. I haven’t posted anything in a long time. I’m still working on my truck in my spare time. I finally got some paint on the cab and doors. The inside is pretty much done other than carpet and putting the guts back in the doors. Hopefully I’ll get it finished by this summer or at least road worthy.
