Thank you - it's front and I'll be sure too... If needed I can always adjust afterwards by changing the coils or spindles or whatever combination I need to get a drop I can live with but I want to try this first. I'll keep you posted on the results IF I can ever finish the thing.

ooDiablo - sweet truck you got there.

Hey Trs, same thing happened with my 63. PO chopped the back coils and the frame just rests on them now instead of being attached to the clamps. Not that that answers your question, but I thought you might like to know that there are more of us back end bouncers out here.

Just asking, when you cut the rear coil what holds the spring in place? When I got my truck the PO cut the rears and it bounced all over the place and the coils didn't have a pocket or clip to hold them

Thanks for letting me know. Made me laugh about the back end bouncers.

My 64 is a back end bouncer for sure. I sold it a while back in pieces, and bought it back as a driving truck the other day. The guy decided to heat the springs with a torch to the point they are almost non existent. New lowering springs are the first thing on my list. Prob a 2-3 drop. Anyone have pics of a 2-3?

I have done a 2 1/2 inch drop disc brake front swap on my 64 shortbed with stock front springs. Rear is currently heated stock colis, but I will be mountng 3 inch dropped rear springs next weekend. Tires are 255/60/R15s on polished US Indy slot mags 15 x 7s (front) and 15 x 8 1/2s in the rear.

I don't understand why guys would cut rear coils or heat them. I got my 4".rear drop coils from CPP delivered for $95.

Thanks It sits lower & shines more in person. LOL... kind of primer & base mixed. I hope to have it on the bagged thread in a few months.

Hey guys ive been a member here for a while and was just a lurker. I dont think ive ever posted anything so ill throw up a pic of my dad's 64. He bought the truck in 74 and i think it has about 90k miles on it now....

From what i remember i bought 3-4 or 4-5 springs last time we changed them. I also trimmed a little off the front. Prob going to switch to disk breaks finally with a 2in spindle and drop the rear about 3-4in's more later this summer....Its not a show truck, its a driver, but it is pretty dang slick IMO and it gets alot of attention.......

That's a great looking '64 stepside, & I like your '93 as well! I'll be adding this to my '60-66 pic album. Thanks for sharing with us. We all love pictures. :chevy:
