did a little bit of exhaust work over the last couple days. i cut the mufflers off, took them out from under the back seat area, and moved them all the way out to the back. sounds alot better and not quite as loud as it used to be. need to fix one part up front on the passanger side though as it is touching the cab/floor support :dohh: after this little issue is fixed, the exhaust will get cut back a little more and some stainless tips added, most likely double wall slash cut tips
edit: that fuel filler hose looks closer to the exhaust than it really is Attachment 776243 Attachment 776244 Attachment 776245 Attachment 776246 Attachment 776247 |

painted exhaust all black a few days ago, looks alot better now, but i still have a few things to do to it before i call it good enough for quite a while.
also painted my door arm rests grey with vinyl paint. and also did the sun visors even though they were already gray cause they were charcoal grey. will need to do the dash pad (its a different color grey as well...smh :waah:) to make it all match. oh! and i also did the rear cover for the roof a/c unit that i may be using since it was blue and i had it mounted up. no pics of that stuff though other than the arm rests Attachment 778352 Attachment 778353 |
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
arm rests look good! getting th original glue off the metal doors panels is hard, huh?

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
Looks good man. I like it. How did you get outside of the frame? Did you do it on the front side of the notch?
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
thanks. its ran outside the frame all the way from up front right by the kickup behind the crossmember. it comes out of the shorty headers then comes straight down and kicks out to the side in that area behind the c-member
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
Can you take a picture, when you have a sec and are under it, of how it looks up front by the collectors where you went outside?
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
Awesome, thanks. I have a couple more questions. What diameter pipe? Do you lay frame? I had been staring at that for a few hours and decided I didn't think it would work but you just proved it. Thanks again.
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
yes... well sort of, if i had a front dropmember and trimmed the trailing arm crossmember more it would. so really it lays a-arms up front, trailing arm c-member, and almost quater panel out back (its a little less than a 1/2" from the ground). up at the very front they used 2.25" tubing just to get it to the outside of the frame, and then its 2.5" all the way to the mufflers, and then 3" from the mufflers back. they used to be located under the back seat area but i didn't like the way it sounded and it was to loud, so i myself relocated them and put them out back. and no problem brother thats what we are all here for.
darn computer being slow, GRRRRRRR. :) |

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
i never noticed your handles were shaved! did you only the keep the drivers one?
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
:)...well they are half way shaved , they just have some peices of a bed side/patch panel cut down and rivited over them for now until i get around to doing it right. need to grind the rivets off and trim the metal down and weld it in. the way it is now is only temporary so their isn't a big hole where the handles used to be haha. and the drivers side one is still their for now but will eventually get shaved as well

:jdp: damn those look good!where did you go for dye and hw did you do it i need to do mine red.
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
simple green to clean them(also use a scrub brush) and rit brand dye, both from walmart :)
the dye was like $3, and the simple green was about $6 or so for 2 liters |
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
cool do they have a bright red color?
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
not sure, but after mine dried they looked like a super dark blue :dohh: (probably cause the greenish color they started out as) , but oh well thats ok because they look 100x's better now, and they are only temporary till i can get them redone or whatever im gonna do. also decided to color the bowtie on the buckles silver for a little extra contrast :)
