been off work last 2 days at home feeling like carp with a horrible cold.
today i decided to make myself feel better...lol
went for a drive up Harrison lake east FSR, it's only about 20 mins from my house, literally in our back yard, but i have'nt been up there since 1991. it's a beautiful area, but the yahoo's from Vancouver turn the whole area into a real gong show every weekend and all summer, so we just have'nt bothered going there in awhile..
last time we were there was in '91 with my then young wife in my '76 K5, we drove to Shovel creek road, which is a very remote back way into Nahatlatch valley. driving that road you go prepared, extremely rough, there is NO ONE around, no type of cell service, it would be a hurtin' place to break down...planning on going up there in a couple months once the snow lifts...:metal:

run into these wannabe's on the way up with there yuppy-mobiles, they stopped at the gravel. guess their roadside assistance does'nt cover wiping the dirt off their mudflaps...:lol:

with the snow meltdown and the logging trucks, the road was bloody rough- pothole city. and not just regular potholes, logger potholes, foot, foot and a half deep, sometimes more...

looking down Harrison lake, its big, 40 miles long and up to 5 miles wide.
and even further is Fire mt, with Flame mt, Candle mt & Ash mt in the distance. was a gold mine back in the 1880's

Cogburn beach. wife and me used to camp here all the time, it's awesome in the summer, and has great views of the mts across the lake

coming up to Bear creek. local logging company has a base of ops here. they run a lot of the Pacific's, Hayes & Western stars out here. big trucks do big holes in the road...:lol:

was able to drive a couple miles up Silver creek. calm before the storm, once the snow starts dissolving, Silver comes WAAAAY up...

have'nt been getting out as much as i want too. march was the gloomiest on record around here, less than 70 hrs of sun for the month, rain on 28 of 31 days, and temps below normal....where's the global warming everyone is talking 'bout.....:lol:

after our little hike, talked the wife and son into going for a drive up the fraser canyon. instead of the usual puppy p break at Hunter creek, we took this road down to where Hunter meets the Fraser river

went riding around Klowa mountain today, just north of Nahatlatch valley.
stopped at the McDick's in Hope for big macs and q p's. dont think dawg was crazy about the big mac.....we have a critic...:lol:

but there is some 3 feet deep snow on the second last corner....i made it right around here then just bogged, wife got about 10 feet further up the road before her run ended, she has 25" tires, i got 23's, plus she had the extra weight of my son, we had to leave his Outlaw about a mile or so down the road, not nearly enough clearence and it's only 2wd. we hiked the last bit in

if you want to see some STUNNING country, you need to check out Stein Valley, which we went by today with a slight stop...:lol:
actually headed up to Monkey Wrench, a great place north of Lytton to ride, just took the wifey's truck to check out some things for our holidays later this summer, been lots of wash-outs and damage to all our roads this winter with the retarded amount of snow AND rain we've had....
