Assembled the new Hella 4 E-Codes tonight. They come with a 60w-55w bulb which combined with the housing and the way it's designed should increase the candle output by almost 50% over original.(So I've been told)
Put the headlights into the buckets and mount.Replaced the screws, nuts and springs as well. Everything seems to fit pretty good for the upgrade. I did see in a post some time back that the rubber cover at the back has a tendancy to push the plug off ,so just to trim it back around the prongs.Ill do that later on and post a pic.:ito: |

I decided to go with .035 wall stainless for brake and fuel lines. At this stage of the game.., why cheap out.
I will be using AN fittings with a 37 degree flare as anyone who has tried knows a 45 degree dual flare on stainless is near impossible to achieve. I picked up the lines yesterday after work, and was able to bring the brake line at 20 foot long home without cutting it down. Almost 8 feet lancing out the passenger window...,good thing no cops were around. Today I spent the morning polishing it all . So after work next week, this will all get plumbed in with hopes of installing the engine and trans a week or two after.:ito: |
Re: Project truck dream 65"
I also got my brake and fuel lines in those lengths, and it is nice knowing that I didnt have to patch a bunch of shorter lines together to get from the front of the frame to the rear.
I was nervous about flaring my own ends, but am happy to report they have been connected and filled almost 6 months now without any signs of leakage. Next will be to check them after they have been run with pressure... Looking forward to seeing your work on this, I am sure you have something really nice in store !! I love your work, you inspire me often :metal: |

Well today was a good day to put my grill back together. I took my time and made sure I did not scratch anything.
I also decided to rebuild my original vent windows. I sold the chrome ones as I just didn't want to use the repop junk. I was able to save my vent rubber as I don't think the new ones fit properly. Hopefully I can get them back in without wrecking them,as anything I found just dosen't match up to the old ones. I spent a few hours cleaning the frames up before sending them off to the powder coater's.:ito: |

More plumbing today, have most of it done thanks to my bud. I'm pretty happy with the end result here, lines are consistent and uniform with the master and booster.

Brought my engine home today and planned on tucking it in a corner in the shop.So much for that idea.
Nice to have a bud over for an extra set of hands. Last time I installed one I used a tripod and did it myself.....,no fun. Anyway its in for a short time as the mounts will need to be modified, brake and fuel lines finished etc.:ito: |

I did my final polish on the trans today, all that work was worth it.It looked good enough to bolt in...,so I did !
The jack me and my bud used was a little less than safe......,but its in ! I had to drill a couple holes for the crossmember,2 lined up at the rear of it which I was not expecting, it should have been a pain in the a.. ! It was nice to have a something go smooth for a change. I'm going to toss the existing pan and replace it with a high capacity aluminum pan as well as some detailing on the steel components when it comes back out. I will be using polished button heads on the final install as well. I'm liken the looks of the space down the firewall, that trans shines !:ito: |
Re: Project truck dream 65"
Very Nice! :metal:
… and you have a good eye, that contrast between the white and Shiny… :bann: Well Played Sir!!!:metal: |

My first fittings showed up today,as the paychecks roll in so will the braided line and more fittings.
I also in the last few days mounted the wire looms and new engine dip stick. The cab sail panels are temporarily in place to see if I'm going to run them or not. They are reconditioned mint originals:ito: |
