The shifter has 8 positions. They send rear most. Bench stays. There is a "bench" shifter like old school. Grandma had one 3 on floor 72 Rally Nova. I will try to keep close to seat. I just like the tight shift where truck spot makes for more throw.

I will post here instead of on my build thread because I cant find it without the search function.

I installed my newly painted radiator support and my new radiator. My original 62 fan shroud does not fit even thought the radiator fits right. It is wider than the new radiator by about an inch on both sides. I think I might need to get an electric fan set up.

I started to install my old hooker headers that have just been ceramic coated but it started to rain.

Started the rebuild/restoration on the vent windows. The only hard part is getting the rivets right. I'm going to try the pop rivet method, if that don't work, I'll buy the C-Clamp tool them pass it over to someone else in the club.

I'll do a photo doc on the process, maybe it will help others.

Got the '89 C10 60/40 split bench seat installed yesterday! Soooo much more comfortable than the old stock bench with worn out foam. The center console/armrest is great as well. It fit perfectly. The forward outside holes, 1 on each side lined up, then had to drill 3 new holes for each side. The passenger side frame fit to the right of the trans hump. The passenger side inner frame under the console mounted on top of the trans hump, no spacers, no mods , just new holes. Took a total of less than 2 hours, with lots of measuring, and double/triple checking.

Your right John. That seat wasn't available until 1995. Great seat. I'll be looking for that type seat when (or if) I get to that point but I'm going to try to use the back seat headrests (haven't tested to see if they fit yet) just because they're smaller and won't show as much through the BBW.

How much more legroom do you think you gained by using the 91 seat? I know the seat backs are a little thinner on the 88-94 bench seat. I'm 6'-4" so I like legroom.

hard to say,im 6'5" with the later 90s seat felt like i was all up on the steering wheel, switching to the 91 seat like you said is diffently thinner on seat back which got me off the wheel.so maybe a inch or so,ive seen where some guys cut a inch out of seat bracket as well to gain some room(88-94 seat)

You guys are al probably right, I just went with what the guy I bought it from said. So, sorry for bad info that might throw someone off, but I am almost positive it's from a pre-1999, from the research I did, after that they took more work to install. This one was quite easy to install, and is VERY comfortable. I did lose about an inch of legroom. I had previously installed a tilt column, and when I did that I pushed it forward as far as I could, so I am quite comfortable with the steering wheel position.

Replaced the leaking water neck and looked at the header bolts but got too lazy to change the gaskets. lol Gassed her up and shortened the life of the tires.

Went a little too far. Pulled water pump, balancer, cover. Since I had headers and plugs out I figured I would find true TDC. Now all clean, painted and polished. Also posted parts in classifieds.

MINI ROAD TRIP !!

Well, it was a trip, and it was by road.

Got contacted by our import agent this week to say our bits had landed and been unpacked. Duties and shipping to be paid on collection.

So Martin and I set off early, also to meet up with Paul Y en-route before collecting our parts from Ron.

Spent about 90 minutes with Paul talking truck, especially his plans for Woody.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps0bvs87ax.jpg

As always we spent quite a long time chatting cars, imports and the state of the nation before collecting our bits and setting off.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psvabv1nna.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psawofz2dc.jpg

Managed to negotiate Ron out of a cool plate for my collection, from his wall.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psmwjz7ric.jpg

On the way back one of the landmarks I always miss out on photographing was this pub.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psdlruw7vv.jpg

One of the items we collected was our 67-72 rear bumpers.

NOW QUESTION TIME.... ???

I never realized that there were more holes in them than the two bumper bolt holes.

On top of that, I feel a bit pisssed off as there "extra" holes let down the chrome and the show...... It looks like the extra hole was laser cut, and the chrome around this hole is rubbish, or non existent.

Any advice on my perception here happily accepted.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psvps4u2eo.jpg

This is the extra hole, and also there are two notches in the bottom edge on each side of the number plate recess.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psv73uoaox.jpg

Up close.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pstyg7jj5m.jpg

My total haul for today, included a load of window rubbers, and a set of door instep stainless strips as well as new door hinge pins.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psuboxeasw.jpg

Tabitha for some reason attached the carpet box with a vengeance.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psw1csgr1k.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psmkq9yu0q.jpg

After Martin left to go see to the dogs and Amanda, possibly in that order, I went to the garage to carry on figuring out the tow bar.

Managed to get to a point where I drilled more holes and cut some metal away.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psqqmlpnku.jpg

Next up welding tomorrow.

Is that an original 60-66 rear bumper? The extra holes do seem out of place.

Hi mate

There are little notches cut out on both sides too, that you can just see in the one pic.

This is the receipt, I think it shows clearly what we ordered.

I installed some sun visors(didn't even have one for the passenger side) and a nice set of aluminum sail panels (polished them up a little) on my 66 service truck today. Got lucky on the visors, they are period correct and match my seat perfectly. My upholstery guy happened to have this matching set on his shelf lying around for years.

Ok, I see you bought Fleetside/Suburban/Blazer rear bumpers for 67-72. I had heard they would fit the 63-66 Fleetsides.

Thank you Lugnutz, I am happy overall as well.

Biggest thing is slow progress, but hey, it is progress.

I scored a front and and 10 bolt off an 1984 C10 for 80 bucks! Too bad I didn't have anyone home to help me unload it so I tore it down as much as I could in the truck. Going to rebuild it after my back stops hurting, haha. Being 150lbs. and lifting a rear end is never good on the body, even for a young guy :(

Well we made great progress today. This truck basically sat since 1985 (last registration) and my son and I cleaned this thing up. It was a REAL mess for sure!! All the old repaint looks like it will come off also as we just hosed it off with a higher pressure hose end and it was just falling off down to the original sea mist jade paint. We clean out the bed and interior aired up the tires, and installed the correct hood today. We still have a LONG way to go but had allot of fun getting everything we did get done to it today.! See the before and after! Bottom before top after with new correct hood.
