Working on upgrading the truck to a wiper system w/washer. Got an OEM switch and knob. Did the polishing on it since its stainless and got it installed. The motor and wiper system will be next.

Tired of the noise levels in the cab before the last tear down, I applied Second Skin Damplifier Pro to the interior of the cab (posted earlier), and sprayed 3M acoustic coating underneath over the weekend...

Getting there piece by piece. When I converted to factory guages, I upgraded the knobs to the custom knobs. Problem is the repop stuff is garbage and all the knobs looked different even though they came from the same supplier. I have managed to piece together a complete set of OEM custom knobs and only have the choke cable to install.

Thanx! yep, I'm pretty happy. I went with BF Goodrich T/A radial white letters. When I picked them up, first thing he said was "one came out better than the other". He was right but oh well, they look good for the 20 bux I paid to have it done. I think they have a machine that does it. The lines on the back tire aren't as uniform and he went a little too deep and hit black again but I can touch it up. I think he rushed. Not sure. They are pretty wide whites now. I would say close to 3".

Anyone know of someplace near North Alabama to have whites shaved?

Also, I picked up the tools to make and bend new brake lines.

Oh man what an improvement, and the gas mileage is much better too! Here it is out on its shakedown run this evening. You can see how much happier the truck is with the new upgrade!

Actually it is a lot quieter. Before I had only a rubber mat on the bare floor. Now it has partial jute padding and the entire floor is covered in 1/8” plastic. It does make a significant difference in sound deadening.

I’ve posted pics in my build thread. I was a bit worried about the fit when I first started working on it because it is so unmanageable. I’m very happy with how it looks now, especially since earlier today I flattened out some of the remaining puckers with a heat gun and magnets. It just looks so rich in the truck compared to the old rubber mat. And the deep black color makes the upholstery look blacker. We took it out on a date and of course got crap all over the floor. So I pulled it in the garage and blew it out with an air hose and it looks like new again!

Just check around with the car club/rat rod guys or call the largest used tire shop in your area. They will know of someone, if they don't do it. I found my place, by word of mouth. Good luck!

After much head scratching and searching high and low I FINALLY installed, welded in, a Trans Dapt motor mount on my '73 frame to fit a 283. With Tons of help from a new buddy of mine with a handy Millermatic 175 :metal: Next I will be relocating transmission mount to fit my new 700 trans.

Thanks to Keith Seymore who is a member of this wonderful page I got enough confidence to start on relocating my hangers to drop my baby another 3" in the rear. Funny thing is I had no idea rear was flipped already till I took bed off:lol:, but she aint low enough!

Lastly I finally got my new Hitachi mini starter from Summit thanks to the Doobie Brother who recomended it.

Trucks are looking good guys!

I changed the 4x4 output shaft on my tranny to a 2wd output shaft. I guess that is another way to hold the output shaft up for you while you get the clip on..

Went on our first road trip adventure. The four of us went to Gravenhurst, 2.5H drive into the Muskoka Region of Northern Ontario. This is where Goldie Hahn, and Kurt Russell use to have a place, yes, multi million dollar cottages! I expected that the old girl would hold up fine on the trip (but you never know), and she did. Made a point of packing a couple boxes of tools, and a couple of spare tires. The day before we left, I got some good news and bad news, my front tires came in, but my back tires would not be in for 2 more weeks:( At least I was running two tires that were less than 25 years! Also still trying to decide what depth beauty rings I want on the new black wheels, and have not ordered center caps yet either. Great car show in gravenhurst, the 19th annual, over 200 vehicles, only one other 60-66 truck though. Enjoy some pics!

Replaced the brake booster and master cylinder on the 65. Bolted on 74 C10 parts and only had to extend the brake rod slightly to reach the brake pedal.

WOW! I now have brakes!! I don't need to stand on them anymore! So much more fun to drive!
