Mahalo!
It has its little problems, it was sitting for 6 years prior to me getting it, so there are a few things like the proportioning valve is stuck keeping the brakes locked up, reverse lights etc. I need those little things to get a safety check to register it. The rear end is being changed to a 3.08 so I can get good mileage, gas is $3.63/gal. here and have to drive 20 miles one way to work. otherwise it runs great! right now it has 260 miles since the rebuild.

This is my first attempt at a truck project I just picked it up 3 days ago and it has a long ways to go. 1972 GMC rat rod/slammed truck. its to bad the guy cut it up its pretty solid.

Ill get some pics later of the engine, rear frame and what it has for an interior its the original straight 6 and I am going to run it. The air tanks I am going to mount in the bed. I plan on getting a set of 20's for it finish the interior and add a 5speed trans to it possibly a twin carb set up for the six. then just clean up the rest of the truck weld the fronnt fenders back up forward hinge the hood and paint it hot rod black and drive the crap out of it...:metal: I uploaded some pics I got from the guy I got the truck from, Ill get more if you guys want. Its nothin fancy just different. the top is chopped 2 inches and when lowered the top of the roof is 49" off the ground. The rockers are cut off the front fenders have been shortend to match and the lower bed has been cut off to modify it to match but pieces were lost. So I have to find 2 lower bed sides to reinstall

I just bought this one 2 weeks ago.. It needs some work but I dont have much money in it and for the midwest its not a complete rust buckets. Thankfully classic parts is 5 miles from my house.

Do you ever come to Pigeon Forge for the rod runs? If not I'll try to let you know when I may be coming up to the Clinton Hwy cruise-in. I actually haven't been to it in about 3 or 4 years.

cam.man67, I love the pictures and the truck!

I especially like the side view mirrors you have. What year/make did they come off of? Are they towing mirrors?

I've seen a few trucks on the board here with mirrors like yours and would love to find some for my truck, but don't know what to ask for. I think they look a lot better than the tiny rectangular ones that are one my truck now. Plus, yours probably provide a functional view of the back of the truck - unlike the postage stamps I've got now.

Thanks for the help!
Curt

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what these mirrors are called. The guy who painted my truck had them on hand. I'm stopping by his place tomorrow, I'll ask him then. Glad you like the truck! :)

He wasn't home, but I'm pretty sure they're called West Coast Mirrors. When he gets home, I'll ask.
