Still needs a bit of polish, but roughly done

The saga goes like this!

My attempt went like this FAILED @ rebuilding the vent windows

Wrong ds gasket installed on ps gasket

Had window surround chrome done

Bought SS U channel but original has a swage at top to fit in door frame

Install complete, going to open for first-time, NOPE should have lubed, before installing

Got the oil can pump and doses it liberally,

Today squeakie crusty crunchy sound, continued on watching hinge, aliitte more pressure

And it. Snapped free

Snapped free as in functions correctly now? Or snapped free from some where it was supposed to be attched to?

Re: PO has me PO'd

If there is such a good thing as a SNAP, I think it was the cam and spring on the post freeing up

But I was concerned that the hinge was going to twist off, so my focus was on the hinge

Jesse, the whole process of rebuilding them isn't difficult, I just lost one of the parts. It was called FOCUS

I picked this one for 15.00, on our boards, and now I have a sample to go by

I'll revisit this at a later date, for now I have lots of other stuff to do

Thanks for stopping by guys, encouraging to see someone actually reads this

Just take one apart at a time so you have a sample

Re: PO has me PO'd

Today I was looking at the vent window and noticed a haze on it,

Windex didn't touch it nor carb cleaner

So I went extreme, OOOO x steel wool, took it right off

Drive head leaves a little to be desired, prefer hex drive and a little less counter sunk
My trusty old ignition screw holder came thru again, probably one of the oldest in the box

Re: PO has me PO'd

I may have found the key to installing vent window gasket

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...f3c476a2_c.jpg16839836189121653743720210587843 by https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...bc17529e_c.jpg16839837067383676702868664076411 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/198023675@N07

Pushing down on the gasket at the top bracket seems to keep the gasket running in the channel, while pulling down on the gasket towards the bottom of the vent frame

Re: PO has me PO'd

This area gets tricky as the bracket wants to pull the gasket out of the C channel

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ebe2d44e_c.jpg16839887199705642420944309778849 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/198023675@N07

Windex makes it slid better, but the trade off is that it also comes out of the channel easily
