Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Yesterday, I test fit the inner fenders to the core support. Fit great!
Then I removed the interior in prep for removing the cab and started removing the steering column so I can shorten it. Not too much but, still, progress. Steven |
Re: What did you do to your truck today?
extended the pipes to the back and added some chrome tips! It sounds so bad ass now..such a huge difference!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I put the new front park brake cable in but something is missing and I can't remember what the part looks like or i routed it wrong. This is under the dash where it hooks up to the handle.
I also installed the flexplate I just got on the engine and mated the tranny up with it. It is just sitting on the floor waiting to get installed into the truck. Now I just have to get the truck home so i can do this. |

Where it started (sorry, only straight on pic I have) http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/8dd03218.jpg From front http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/a9ceae32.jpg A little closer http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/6a961d1c.jpg The gray primer - light blue paint - dark blue paint comes thru great. Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Met up with my son who handed over some custom aluminum and brass punches he whittled up for me. Now I can get restarted on the windshield trim project. My old steel punches are too big and beat up for such delicate work, and the wood I have available doesn’t hold up long enough. I probably won’t have much need for the big ones on the left, but you never know:

Finally got my hands on my new beauty rings. The guy was quite upset as he sells the center caps I want, but was out of stock, so I will get the center caps in a couple of weeks.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
What center caps are they?

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
And what brand and size beauty rings are those? They really are beautiful! (No pun intended). I like how deep they look with the smooth corner. Early Vette rings like those have a hard corner. Yours look really custom.

I couldn't decide if I liked red or flat black so this is what I came up with.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Drove down from Northern Arizona about 320 miles to Tucson and loaded it up on a car dolly and towed it back home.
So now I get to piddle on it and finish off a laundry list of little things to get it running again. It was down at my brother's for an engine/transmission swap. |

I bought my truck a new tool! Electric impact wrench with an electronic ft/lb setting on it!!! How cool is that???? Won't trust that for delicate stuff, but I am sure that will come in handy.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Brought it back to the house so i can work on it and still have enough room to do customer stuff at the shop.

After repairing the washing machine for my wife (the cold water valve wasn't opening) I was able to work on my 64. I Finally finished the retrofit of my Ford Windshield washer system into my 64 C-10. I used a Ford truck washer/radiator overflow tank out of a truck, used the squirter nozzels out of that same truck and picked up a used 64 - 66 Chevy truck 2 SPD wiper washer switch off eRape. I used the factory dimples in the firewall to drill my holes for my squirter nozzels, I removed the cowl and had to clearance (cut) out a little slice of lip that the cowl covers anyway. I also had to readjust the squirt nozzels using a 1/4" box end wrench to get the nozzels to squirt the proper height and to shoot between the vent slats in the cowl. I ran a fused hot to the pump - the washer pump switch completes the ground activating the pump. The hardest part of the whole process was adjusting the nozzels. A very slight tweek goes a long way. I'm happy & my wife's happy it was a win - win day for me.
